Do You Like Rugby and Cricket?

Do you watch the Rugby Premiership or Super League? How would you react if your country won the cricket or rugby World Cups?

I love football and snooker, I like boxing, tennis, darts, as in I'll watch when they're on. I wouldn't know, genuinely, if we won the cricket or rugby. There's a good chance I wouldn't know it's even going on. It would mean nothing to me, and you could tell me that we won the previous tournament and I'd have no idea of that's true or not. Not on my radar at all

Given you mentioned the Super League, I would react as normal ~~if~~ when my country won the Rugby League World Cup. And a Cricket World Cup

Love rugby union and cricket equally. Played both at school and later on at club level. RWC 2003 and Ashes wins are my peak memories. Losing at rugby to Wales or Scotland are my lows. Generally like most sports but can’t watch all the histrionics involved in football any more.

Used to care more about rugby, now it’s the other way round - I’m an obsessive England red and white ball watcher. Anyway, World Cup is nice, but it ain’t the Ashes or a Test Series against India.

I have fallen in love with cricket since moving to Australia. I also transitioned from being a Union fan for Bath to a Parramatta Eels fan in the NRL.

Not interested in cricket at all. I like international rugby. I watch rugby world cup matches whenever I can. I don't like domestic rugby though. IIRC the Premiership is changing to some franchise model too? So it's getting even worse and I'll be less likely to watch it.

not interested in rugby - i think it's one of those sports that you need to have played a bit to appreciate. love cricket, and streamed county matches on you tube are my goto. even when middlesex lose. react with some pleasure when uk teams win regardless. react with joy when i see team gb win where i'm invested in the event

Welsh bloke here- Rugby (Union) is my all time favourite sport, both playing and watching. Cricket doesn't move fast enough for me, was always known as a posh sport where I grew up.

Yes to both, but I'm more interested in international level stuff than club/county

I enjoy test match cricket because it's the kind of game you can sit outside and half watch while also reading a book and enjoying a cold drink. One of the few sports I actually kind of enjoy watching.

Rugby Union yes. Cricket is the 2nd worst sport ever created, golf being the worst

Not particularly, although there's evening 20:20 matches at Trent bridge which I wouldn't mind checking out. Test cricket, can't do it. My hate of rugby comes from childhood. I went to a union playing school for a couple of years and as a good sportsman generally, and being very fast, I got picked for the school team I hated the game, at 11 I was about 80 pounds soaking wet, I was not built for rugby!!

I got up early and watched the 2003 Rugby World Cup. It was awesome. Id love to see England do it again. I like Test Cricket. I'd rather win The Ashes tbh.

We had guests crashing on our sofa and didn't believe me when I told them I was waking them up early to watch it. 😆

I’m Scottish, am a big rugby fan. The Premiership isn’t as good as it thinks it is - it’s a fun league but the English overestimate the quality. I watch more of the URC. If Scotland ever won the World Cup I would literally never stop talking about it (spoiler - we won’t). I also enjoy cricket having grown up in Yorkshire from a fairly young age. I support England in tests and limited overs (except when they play Scotland), but I’m a lot less invested. So I’m pleased if they win, but Scotland winning/losing in rugby can affect my mood to a frankly embarrassing level.

To play or to watch? Was good at rugby but hated playing it cause it hurt. Liked playing cricket but was too scared of the hard ball so liked playing with a tennis ball. To watch, love watching rugby but I find cricket a bit dull, just goes on too long really. T20s can be okay though.

I love cricket. That day in 2019 when England won the 50 over World Cup was incredible. What a day of emotions. I'm not bothered about rugby.

At most I sometimes pop along to watch the T20 as an excuse to have some beers in the sun. I couldn't care less about domestic or international success in those sports.

I like rugby, not enough to watch regularly but enough to watch the six nations, world cup, random matches that happen to be on when I fancy watching TV Cricket isn't very interesting for me, although the summer of 2005 I watched a lot of it as did just about everyone I know

I like cricket but i prefer red ball by a long, long way. The Cricket World Cup doesnt really interest me, id much prefer we won The Ashes. Ill occasionally watch rugby union internationals but i find a lot of it quite dull.

Love cricket, can't really be bothered with rugby.  Doesn't help that I didn't play rugby at school so I genuinely find the rules of the NFL easier to follow. Also quite hard to love the current England cricket team, but that's a separate problem...

Cricket more than Rugby. Cricket world cup is good but I’d rather England won the Ashes series.
