Milk in carpet is absolutely horrific. It’s difficult to clean out with a carpet cleaner and will rot in the fibres. I don’t know if powdered milk is similar but if you need to look like you’re spilling only water (or walking with wet shoes or whatever) I’d say powder up that carpet, shake it down so it’s not visible, accidentally spill that water and watch that milk rot.
