I’m skeptical, but is there any factual basis behind the recent TSMC-to-Intel rumors?

I came across a claim saying that even TSMC itself may be having internal issues, and that last year a vice president allegedly left for Intel with technical information.
I’m honestly skeptical about this and couldn’t verify how accurate it is.
Is there any factual basis behind this story, or is this mostly internet rumor / exaggeration?
Would appreciate insight from people who follow the semiconductor industry closely, especially regarding:
- whether any senior TSMC executives actually moved to Intel,
- how common talent movement is between these companies,
- and whether this would realistically matter for TSMC’s technological leadership.
Trying to update my understanding with better information rather than repeat questionable claims.

Are you a bot incapable of googling “TSMC-Intel lawsuit”?

Yes, for the amount of typing he did to ask this question here, he could write less in chatgpt or google, and get the answers he's looking for.

I think I’m starting to understand why people are irritated.
At first, I didn’t really get why this was such a big deal, because I saw it as simply being free to change jobs.
But if there were also suspicions that Intel’s IP may have been taken back then, the fact that Intel didn’t make a huge public fuss about it makes them seem pretty magnanimous.
The historical discussions here are honestly really insightful. Hearing people’s firsthand perspectives is genuinely valuable. Thanks for pointing me toward it. Sometimes there are cases where I don’t want to rely entirely on AI either.

AI such as ChatGPT normally gives you links to their sources. While it is correct that AI may sometimes give you inaccurate information, hence it is important that you google to validate important information. Alternatively, you can copy the response in chatgpt and paste in an alternative AI app like Grok or Gemini, and ask if the information is accurate? This is one way to get multiple AIs to verify information espeically those that are important to you.
Having been a daily Redditer for 2 years, I'd confidently say that many commenters here can spew misinformation confidently or gives skewed biased views based on their personal opinions rather than facts, which is why you should always do your own research.
Reddit is good if you are looking for opinions less if you're if you're looking for facts

I realize I made a big mistake.
As a foreigner, the conversations here looked very high-level and financially literate to me. In my country, most discussions are honestly about things that don’t really matter, so compared with that, I thought the discussions here were excellent.
But after hearing your opinion, I’ll make sure to verify things with Google from now on as well. I was already comparing answers across different AI models, but I’ll also use Google as an extra layer of confirmation going forward.
I think the reason everyone got angry at me is that there was just too big a gap between my level of knowledge and everyone else’s.
Thank you for taking the time to speak to someone as clueless as me.

What model are you based on? Because it’s trash.
