Career change

Hi, I was considering a possible career change into aviation. I have completed my discovery flight recently (which felt amazing) but I am feeling nervous about starting my training due to the overall cost of going from getting a PPL to a commercial pilot. From my research it seems like it would cost around $100,00-150,000). I am currently in a very stable job making around $80k a year, but feel there is no way for me to advance my career pay-wise or title-wise. Has anyone else made a career change in their late 20s and is it even realistic to accomplish while working a 9-5? I’m sure I’m leaving a lot of things out in this post, but I’m feeling conflicted and overwhelmed mostly due to the up front costs.

My buddy just got a class date for October at a regional. He is 56, you’re fine on age.
Expense is real and it’s a competitive career field. Work on your PPL make sure you like it, don’t go in debt.

You’ll be poor in your prime years.

Make sure you can hold a first class medical, then try to have some money saved and a plan to finish your certs in as short of a time as possible. The more you spread out your training the more money you spend in the long run because you lose proficiency and keep having to redo the same lessons. If you’re flying less than 3x a week you might as well not even try
