Europes nationalism was built on expansionalism instead of nation. Like france, italy and germany controlling the entirety of the europe or being the new rome.

For example ottoman didnt had nationalism, the movements and people were erased to prevent this amaglamation of an empire's downfall. Same happened to the balkans but at some point ottoman couldnt and it all blow up thankfully.

Turkish nationalism was built by mostly Ataturk, there were turks that lived in europe coming back to write about these things but they werent really successfull since people didnt know how to read. The Ataturks nationalism takes people in its core not ethnic groups but citizens. It is still a good nationalism which usually pushes for the betterment of citizens life under the "every citizen of turkey is equal under laws"

But the reason turkish nationalisms this fucked up deranged state is thanks to american counter soviet propaganda which also effected balkans too heavily. American fucks funded extremist groups and created a secret army to coup if a revolution happens.
