Yes. Had lifetime warranties too.
But the price by modern standards would be eye-popping. I think mine was like $89CAD in 1995-6. Adjusted for inflation that's... a lot...
PortableGeneration@reddit
Like $140 USD adjusted for inflation. Thats about the same as a good Logitech nowadays.
VivienM7@reddit
But the 'good logitech' today at that price point is optical and wireless with a built-in rechargeable battery...
Sinaaaa@reddit
I would argue that there are no good Logitech mice anymore, since none of them use optical switches & an optical encoder simultaneously & the switches they use operating at those voltages go double clicky embarrassingly fast.
andrewbean90@reddit
Agreed... Way better than the intellimouse
Current-Bowl-143@reddit
In what way? IntelliMouse introduced the scroll wheel and later optical tracking, much better than the ball that would collect dirt and lint on the rollers.
andrewbean90@reddit
The intellimouse didn't start off having optical tracking, and it didn't start off with laser tracking. However even the non-ball versions of the intellimouse you so loved have 1 fatal flaw... Well actually several. They were cheaply made, they were not built to last, and they have an intense extreme lag when gaming.

Comfortable for right handers! š
andrewbean90@reddit
They sold a left hand version too. You just had to look for it.
TheGillos@reddit
Balls sucked.
The silver optical mouse from Microsoft was a game-changer!
codykonior@reddit
Yep that shiny coating was the bomb while it lasted.
Of course when they switched to a universal matte coating that was cool too.
Cybrknight@reddit
Apart from the goddamn ball you had to clean on a weekly basis.
JasonMckin@reddit
IBM was so cool, inventing new ports and adding ā/2ā to all their products.

The "/2" stands for quality!

Really good responsive mouse. The styling was pretty decent as well, it looks fine paired with any of my 90s PCs, 386s up to Pentium II era. Whereas some other designs look too old fashioned for the newer stuff or on the flip side, too modern to look period correct for the older stuff.
PecanLoveNubble@reddit
These things were great. I still have my old one on my rig.

I was so sad, there was one of these at the Value Village here in Victoria, but by the time I spotted it the package had been torn open and the contents were all over the shelf.
Accurate-Campaign821@reddit
I had one for a while, then a random Logitech 3 button mouse (no wheel). Then I bought a pci USB 1.1 card and got a Gravis game pad and a USB optical Logitech mouse, 2 buttons with clicky scroll wheel. Painted like a football
