Back in the Nu-Metal craze in the early 2000s, Scuzz TV. It was a metal music channel to sort of compete with Kerrang. With Mullet Man and Lucky Larry.

The Computing Channel on sky (tcc)

Far too many obscure german ones when you could manually tune sky dish to get them. RTL was one i think. I discovered loads of german rave/hardcore music in the 90s on them

Bravo was pretty good, Sci-Fi Channel used to be good. Quite liked Men & Motors. Setanta Sports seemed to have a decent panel and coverage.

Even the music channels were good like 10/15 years ago even if they weren't what they were in the 90s and they only shut down a few months ago.

I kind of understand what you mean by live TV, when TV was catered for who was watching it, it had a far better reach. Children's TV was great and had a solid variety, teatime watching was actually entertaining, after the pub hours TV was great to fall asleep to drunk on the sofa (usually was more risque with tits and swearing and was aimed at drunk blokes)

Even Sundays had a better film on, now it's the same run of Bond, Indiana Jones or Carry On films, then they show a Clint Eastwood later on.

Babestation was a channel that provided dirty phonecalls in the 90s up to the mid 10s. It's still going on channel 902 and channel 904, it'll be there on Freeview too.

You could call up for an expensive price to have a buxom wench whisper sweet nothings in your ear to your heart (or todger's) content.

Or until your dad gets the phone bill and asks you why you've spent a tenner on it... Like that ever happened.

I can't remember the channel name or number, but it plays old 60s hits during the day nice to pause on for a few songs while channel surfing.

I e noticed it doesn't play the Beatles originals, just the bands that covered Beatles songs. I'm guessing they don't have Beatles rights money.

I tell you what I’ve noticed, loads of cafes etc play older music, from the 80s and older, but I’ve never heard a Beatles song in a pub or whatever that wasn’t on the radio.

There's some weird stipulation in the rights to beatles songs that makes it cheaper or easier to get hold of if it's being used in something thats dedicated to the beatles. Thats why that yesterday movie exists, and the upcoming biopics, and the beatles rockband game, and the netflix animated kids show "beat bugs" that aimed to introduce kids to their discography. But anything else uses covers or doesn't use beatles songs at all

cbeebies and cbbc in their prime. mr tumblr, nina and the neurons, tweenies, pingu, bob the builder, balamory, bill and ben the flowerpot men, and that show with the puppets and danny john jules when I was a kid.

Then i got a bit older, and it was all about the sparticle mystery, sarah jane adventures, wizards vs aliens, tracy beaker (which i never understood since i watched it completely out of order), dick and dom, blue peter, and strange hill high.

Shame those channels are shutting down. getting home from school and finding out my fave show was on was a magical experience
