ULPT Advice. They keep breaking into my storage

I live in a condo with a garage storage that they keep breaking into(and I fix it every time). The first time it happened they stole my kids electric scooter so I hesitated from leaving valuable stuff inside. Last week I bought 3 cases of white monster and left him in my storage without thinking. Come to find out they stole that too! I want to leave something somewhat valuable but put a tracker in it to make sure its not somebody in my building. Do all tracking devices shoot notifications on your phone? How can I accomplish this?

Setting up a camera would be a better idea. A tracker might help you find it, but you can't prove whoever has the item actually took it, plausible deniability.
DazzlingNote1925@reddit
Game cameras don’t need internet and can be battery operated.
i-am-foxymoron@reddit
Just be ready to take out a loan,, those cameras take like 40 AA batteries. LOL
fap-on-fap-off@reddit
But if that camera is stolen you have no footage.
I would get one that either records to NVR or cloud.
DazzlingNote1925@reddit
Good point.
There is one that relays the footage to a remote location. I think it uses cell towers. (I’m not technical and it’s been a few years since I bought and used one )Just mentioning in case it’s a place where it’s hard to use another type of camera.

Or get one of those really tiny cameras.

Have you seen the videos by that guy who makes glitter bombs with fart spray?
Is it Mark Rober?

Bluetooth Trackers:
The most effective one is an Apple AirTag but it will also make itself known to thieves (ie to prevent being used for stalking). This means that it will possibly be located and removed.
The only Bluetooth trackers that don't broadcast their existence are the Life360 Tile ones - the range consists of the Tile Pro, Tile Mate, Tile Slim and Tile Sticker. You can activate an "anti-theft" status which then means that the tracker isn't telling everyone that it's there.
Of those the Tile Pro is the only one that has a replaceable battery so that's the one to get (it's a CR2032 battery).
The others have a built-in battery that can't be replaced so they go in the bin when the battery goes flat.
To activate its anti-theft mode you need to supply identification to Life360 and tick a box to confirm that you're not going to use it for bad purposes.
However, any Bluetooth tracker can be located if a person puts an app on their phone called AirGuard.
If you're going to use Bluetooth trackers then use both an Apple AirTag and a Tile Pro. The AirTag has the best network coverage but if it's found and removed then you can try the Tile Pro.

GPS Trackers:
An Apple AirTag or Bluetooth Tile is better than nothing but if your bike goes missing you're going to want something a hell of a lot more effective.
Some of the options:
Digital Matter Yabby Edge: https://www.digitalmatter.com/devices/yabby-edge-cellular
Monimoto: https://www.monimoto.com.au
SolidGPS: https://www.solidgps.com
Digital Matter Yabby Edge: The batteries last for years so you can hide it well on the bike and not have to pull the bike apart to charge it or change batteries. This makes it the lowest-maintenance option.
SolidGPS: You need to charge it regularly.

Note: AirTag has more coverage in the US because around 60% of Americans use iOS, but in other countries the other Bluetooth trackers can be better.

Claymore(s)?
Responsible-Cow5828@reddit
Hide out in the storage area. Put your concentrated piss in a squirt gun. Blast away anyone that tries breaking in.
Blablabla_1985_@reddit
Paintball gun, freeze the balls for better damage.
WallyZona@reddit
Why not the balls?
Mother-Pride-Fest@reddit
Paintballs have the same consistency as eyeballs, so they will mix together and cause the eye-paint-balls to expand. For this purpose it would actually be worse if the balls were warm/room temp. (at least that is what my paintball coach said to scare us into wearing safety goggles)

Piss-balls?

Who is “they?”

put some of that exploding colorful powder in a PS5 box

Claymores.

Along with a camera, put a line of concertina wire or razor wire from one side to the other in the garage, about 1 foot in. Let's see them get out of that.
BusyBullet@reddit
Don’t string up concertina wire on purpose because you can be prosecuted.
If you have some extra concertina wire you need to store make sure it doesn’t come loose and just happen to sprawl out everywhere.
I wouldn’t want anyone to step on it or get tangled up in it.

Put a new double 12' subwoofer box and cheap woofers. Sit in the unit overnight with paintball gun. Profit all over those motherfuckers as you walk thay trigger up n down their asses.

Either you or your lawyer contact the building's insurance company of repeated theft. Let the insurance company come down hard on the building's owner. Insurance companies hate the threat of being sued.
Optimal-Prime420@reddit
Camera, police, and put a tracker in a PS5 box full of shit. What kind is up to you.

Pull a Mark Rober glitter bomb
TheQuickFox_3826@reddit
At this point, it’s probably worth getting a contractor or locksmith to check the storage unit door and improve the locks/security if needed. A small security camera can help to determine the way of entry and it can work as deterrent. Repeated break-ins usually mean the thief already knows the weak spot. Reinforcing the door frame and hinges is often just as important as upgrading the doorlock itself.

Pull string party poppers attached to something they'll take.
Denatonium benzoate bitterant dribbled on the rim of any beverages, it'll give an incredibly unpleasant flavor to whatever poor bastard touches it to their lips.
Used scooter with a train horn taking up most of the battery space, and an anchored pull ring to a switch to sound the horn.
bionicallyironic@reddit
One, get a camera so you can actually prosecute for breaking and entering and theft.
Two, because this is ULPT, get a PS5 box and fill it with dog shit. Leave in garage. Voila.
