Who is your favorite sitcom character?
Posted by LifeSubstance8619@reddit | GenX | View on Reddit | 184 comments
I honestly think Karen Walker might be one of the greatest sitcom characters ever created.
Not just funny, but genuinely iconic. The voice, the timing, the facial expressions, the delivery… Megan Mullally was unbelievable in that role. Karen could be completely ridiculous and still somehow lovable at the same time.
I still think she had some of the best one-liners in TV history. Every time I rewatch Will & Grace I end up laughing at scenes I’ve already seen 100 times.
“Honey, what’s going on here?”
Who’s your favorite sitcom character of all time?
Kobalt6x10@reddit
Janitor, from Scrubs
ChronoMonkeyX@reddit
I think you mean Dr. Jan Itor.
Legitimate_Mind7761@reddit
From my childhood, some of my favorites were:
Lenny and Squiggy from Laverne and Shirley
Ralph and Potsie from Happy Days
Shirley and Dee from What's Happening
George and Florence from The Jeffersons
Alex P. Keaton from Family Ties
Coach from Cheers
Jack Tripper, Larry Dallas, and Ralph Furley from Three's Company
That's all that come to mind for now...
Individual-Army811@reddit
Coach was a legend. I can't here the word Albania without signing his song he used to study for his GED
Legitimate_Mind7761@reddit
Thanks to Coach's song, I remember to this day that Albania borders on the Adriatic and that it's chief export is chrome.

Julia Sugarbaker. Her indignant monologs and snappy one liners were awesome. Her mimicking catcallers with "baby, got to get me one of that" in a monotone southern drawl lives in a special space in my brain.

One of my favorites was when she was defending Bernice. "In the south, we don't hide our crazy relatives. We bring them out for everyone to see." "And whose side of the family are your crazy people on, Ms Sugarbaker?"
"Both."

Lowell from "Wings".
"Wings" is my second favorite sitcom of all time, and I've been rewatching it recently. Thomas Haden Church is an absolute delight as Lowell, and honestly, the show went downhill after he left in season six.
My favorite sitcom of all time has got to be "Third Rock from the Sun", and if I'm picking from that show, it has to be French Stewart as Harry.

yep i came here for the julia, her lectures vs suzanne’s vapid quips is a tough one but i too identify with the older sister vibes. can still recite the whole “my sister wasn’t just miss georgia, she was *the* miss georgia” badass julia sugarbaker the night the lights went down in georgia lecture haha - legend
Adventurous-Fee-8158@reddit
I almost chose Julia because she was so badass. But Suzanne…
Had a pet pig named Noel, was The Miss Georgia, unlikely BFF with Anthony, LBGTQ friendly in the 80’s, and Delta addressed her own controversial weight gain as Suzanne in a heartbreaking episode was before body positivity was mainstream in pop culture.
haileyskydiamonds@reddit
This is true. She’s my next favorite on the show, for certain. The older sister in me relates hard to Julia, though.
