Just curious what everyone has enjoyed watching on Netflix recently? Can be any genre/language. Cheers.

Apex was decent.
A survival movie in Australia with rock climbing. Decent enough film.
SnowFlat2427@reddit
It was a good time but the main character was infuriating and the ending was very predictable, alright for some Friday night entertainment though
MembershipDelicious4@reddit
I couldn't stand the villain teleporting all over the bush. Somehow predicts she will fall out of her canoe and not only keeps up with her on a river but actually beats her to her bailout and sets a trap up. Then proceeded to essentially stand still shooting at her while she inaffectually runs away without ever getting further away. Somehow can see her in the bush at a distance she needs binoculars to see him from. He then crosses a river and climbs a fairly high crag in the time it takes her to move like 20ft. Can't find her literally right under his nose, then teleports back over the river and is busy having fun before she goes back to where she just was. I honestly started looking up aboriginal myths because I thought maybe he was some sort of spirit or something.
Anyway I did enjoy taking the piss out of it while I watched it can't complain
Nuthetes@reddit
I was expecting a reveal to be that he's cheating and he's put some sort of tracker on her which is why he knows where she is all the time.
johnwayneswagger@reddit
Watched it just now. Fair review, and very predictable. Was half expecting the husband & villain to be related.
LordHubub@reddit
Chemical Brothers have seen a boost in streams as a result.
Mission-Toe7183@reddit
I have this huge problem currently with your standard ‘straight to stream’ movies being very cut & paste but having one very edgy scene that gets clipped to make people think this movie is ‘different’ (see 28 years later also)
I did enjoy watching, but this film was definitely a good example of that
TallFriendlyGinger@reddit
We enjoyed it, I loved Taron Egerton in it, but we would have preferred for the main character to be challenged a bit more.

We watched that after seeing it was by the creator.of Derry Girls. We expected a more straightforward comedy but it was very good.
tmmcvy@reddit
I thought it had so much promise and it really let me down.

Hard to give my review without spoilers, but essentially, if the three lead characters weren’t in the story, nothing would have changed.
snarfalicious420@reddit
Yeah we watched all but the last episode and were like "well they've kinda revealed everything now surely?" - odd watch

I Swear was probably the last great thing I watched on Netflix. Fantastic acting and in that British tradition of happy/sad working class dramas.
To be honest, it’s probably the only memorable Netflix film I’ve seen this year. So many - Apex, House of Dynamite, for example - are forgettable, barely 6/10s.
benbez@reddit
I Swear isn’t actually a Netflix film
glasgowgeg@reddit
OP isn't asking about things made by Netflix, only things watched on Netflix.
wheeler1916@reddit
Have you seen "It's what's inside"?
Just_A_some1@reddit
Rewatching Sex Education. The story is so relatable as a teenager in the 2010s/2020s, and the story telling through the scenes and visuals is incredible. You can tell so much based on each character’s house and how they dress. There’s one stand out shot in the first or second episode where the Groff family are sat at the dining table but the father’s head is cut off by the window to the kitchen, it’s really amazing cinematography
Affectionate-Boot-12@reddit
First season was fantastic but it then just went silly.
Groundbreaking_Dare4@reddit
First scene was fantastic.
Just_A_some1@reddit
Yeah, fourth one is dead to me, maybe should have stopped at 2 or halfway through 3
Affectionate-Boot-12@reddit
I also preferred Otis with Ruby. I thought they made a great couple. Maeve while good in season one just didn’t fit after that.
Just_A_some1@reddit
Otis and Ruby were definitely cute, and helped kinda balance each other out. But Maeve definitely played her role perfectly of being the “scary but hot girl”, and I liked her individual story too.
Absolutely HATED Ola tho
Talking_Gibberish@reddit
I only vaguely remember this but im sure they had a weird American school vibe with the sports team jackets and stuff?
I've been to the set of the school quite a few times, my other half went to uni there before they closed the campus.
Just_A_some1@reddit
Yeah they really tried to mesh the American and English school vibes, but they were in sixth form/college so the lack of uniform makes sense. But then all the characters go to all the same classes, like secondary school? It’s a bit strange.
The sports jackets were odd, but I think it’s supposed to represent how the sporty guys all sort of just blend together, and as Jackson branches out into theatre he wears the jacket only over his shoulders (also because of the cast), but it sort of represents how he’s less attached/fully integrated with the group- at least that’s how I interpret it

Just finished watching today, best show I've seen for a long time, absolutely brilliant. I just watched Mobland before and thought perhaps British TV was fucked, it was terrible, but Legends renewed my faith in British TV.

I’m tempted to check out the book it’s based on.

Should I Marry a Murderer?
3-part crime documentary about the missing cyclist in Scotland.
Caroline Muirhead is quite a fascinating person.
https://www.netflix.com/tudum/articles/should-i-marry-a-murderer-release-date-news
cragglerock93@reddit
I'm not usually a fan of this sort of thing but I liked this one and watched it all in one sitting. She definitely is fascinating. Her judgement leaves a lot to be desired but I realised that I was quite harsh in my opinion of her when you consider that the real culprits here are those two heartless fuckers who killed a man. She didn't deal with it well but she didn't want to get sucked into that and it has forever changed the course of her life.
Impatient_butterfly@reddit
I thought this was very well done. I had watched the court case on BBC iplayer, I think, and was left wondering why Caroline hadn't testified. So, it was very interesting to see things from her side.
I know she got a lot of harsh judgement for her behaviour and decisions at the time, but I felt heart sorry for her by the end of the Netflix documentary. She ended up being the key to the whole investigation and because of her bravery, a cold case was solved and a family have answers. But she had to sacrifice her own potential future to do that, yet she was kind of hung out to dry by the police, rather than supported, just because she was intelligent. Madness.
Whipplette@reddit
I’m totally with you. The public vitriol towards her has been insane. Absolutely no doubt she made (many) bad decisions but my god was she put in a horrific position for a very extended period of time. And ultimately without her this case would have remained unsolved, probably forever.

Some binge-worthy shows:
• The Mentalist • 30 Rock • Schitts Creek • Brooklyn Nine Nine • Superstore • Friday Night Dinner • It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia • Still Game
I’m not sure how many of these are still on Netflix, but they come back around eventually.
Jackomo@reddit
I love that Still Game is in this list. All the others are big budget American shows, but I’d choose Still Game over them all. IASIP is close, though.
jipicarte@reddit
Cowboys bebop, never been a fan of animated stories but this was top class !

Particularly enjoyed Hotel Reverie and Eulogy.

Yorky86@reddit
Detective Hole. Some of the English dub is a bit naff but once you get used to it I thought it was a good representation of the books.
West_Yorkshire@reddit
Best thing ever is a series called Dark. I'd recommend watching it in the original language (German). The acting is amazing, music is amazing, and the plot is unique.
Lambchops87@reddit
Just started this today and loving it so far.
Hope they planned the full thing and it lives up to its initial promise as in the early running it seems like it might be a particularly fine example of its genre.
REidson89@reddit
Time for a rewatch.
iamNebula@reddit
I did my classic of watching two seasons then not wanting to finish it cos then it’s over and stopped a few eps into the final season
Shawarma123@reddit
Great recommendation, though I found myself too exhausted to start the third season after I found out >!they were gonna start an alternate reality/multiverse arc!< and just rolled my eyes and told myself I should probably take a break.
metallicpearl@reddit
Probs my favourite ever series. It's absolutely brilliant. 100% recommend Dark.
allenysm@reddit
This is the correct answer, it’s the kind of series you wish you could forget so that you could watch it again without knowing anything. I still think about the ending.
I should also add that even after I read the wiki and saw the family trees laid out to understand it better I was still confused.
runawaydebt@reddit
My favourite, rewatches multiple times but I wish I could erase it from my memory so I can be watching it for the first time again
Temporary_Contest_17@reddit
The most brilliant series. HIGHLY recommend
TheBestBigAl@reddit
Someone told me too that the English dub was amazing, so I started watching the first episode that way. I quickly switched to German audio with English subtitles.
It's not the worst dub ever by any means, but more often than not the tone of the English voice over didn't match the tone of the acting.

Remarkably bright creatures was a very good watch. V. Wholesome
crgoodw@reddit
I really enjoyed Apple Cider Vinegar. Thought it highlighted the toxic wellness industry really well and it's glossy and well made. Turned it on by accident and binged all 6 episodes in a day.
shanrees8@reddit
Started watching that when my dad was dying of cancer. Do not recommend 😭
pajamakitten@reddit
It is great but it just made me angry too. People still get sucked into the clean living bullshit and die because they think there is a big conspiracy to hide the cure for cancer.
crgoodw@reddit
Oh absolutely, as much as I enjoyed watching it, it was just so anxiety-and-rage inducing. Like that people really believe that coffee enemas and juice will heal them.
It made me take a good hard look at a lot of the 'wellness' shit in my own life. If it worked, it'd already be medicine!
purifiedwhat@reddit
Agree - Love this show!!

I only watched this last week but it had been on my list for ages! Really enjoyed it

I’ve been slowly binge watching The Good Doctor for 6 months. I have just finished it and feel empty and sad that it’s finished. 😞
I’ve jumped onto Disney for Rivals now.
OK_LK@reddit
I watched The Good Doctor when it was first aired on Sky/NowTV (or maybe Disney, I forget) and remember waiting for the next series, it seemed to be on forever
It was very good and I was surprised more people weren't talking about it then
Apparently, the South Korean programme it is based on is also available on Netflix and it focuses more on the doc's interpersonal relationships rather than the medical procedures. It's on my list to watch at some point
Leftofnever@reddit
I felt the same. Such a good drama and not one I’ve heard talked about much. I miss Shaun

Toni Colette and Merritt Weaver are just so good. Not forgetting Kaitlyn Dever ofc.
The first episode makes me so angry at Marie’s treatment. I seethe throughout the whole runtime.

AromaticVacation3077@reddit
The Vinland Saga. Not my usually kind of thing at all - cartoon Vikings. I watched it because it's my nephew's favourite show. It's amazingly compelling considering it's a cartoon. The characterisation reaches Shakespeare level towards the end of S1. I did not expect that at all. The first episodes are incredibly violent, but once you're past that all this Machiavellian political intrigue develops and it's so gripping. Anyone who fancies it - I recommend watching it in the original Japanese with subtitles. The English dubbing is diabolical.
Extreme-Kangaroo-842@reddit
The Middle.
I watched it on original release as a parent when my kids were very young - Infant and Primary school. Much of it was about bringing up teenagers so it didn't resonate.
My kids are now in university or holding down jobs as they've finished uni.
Jesus... do I recognise much of what Mike and Frankie went through now. It's a very realistic portrayal of family life bringing up kids in a normal household. Every main character has their flaws and their virtues. And you'll love every one of them... eventually.
And the more I'm watching the later seasons, the more I'm realising I'm now more or less Mike Heck (the dad).
It's a brilliant comedy that doesn't get the recognition it deserves. All five main actors are A+.
iMatthew1990@reddit
“Night agent” especially the first series is very good. Season 2 and 3 aren’t bad though. And very worthy of a watch.

The Midnight Gospel.
People say to watch it whilst high or on (you know what), but I watched it not doing any of those things and it really pulled at my emotions. Especially the episode with the protagonists mum.
Cultural_Tank_6947@reddit
Big Mistakes. It's an 8 part series starring and created by Dan Levy. Not like Schitts Creek at all, other than both being set around a dysfunctional family, but man the humour is good.
The Hulk Hogan documentary. Bloody hell Netflix can make great documentaries about flawed people.
imnotavampire24@reddit
I really enjoyed Big Mistakes, it was nice to see Dan Levy in a role he was so comfortable in. And it’s been renewed for another season!
