GenX Stoners... are you vaping your flower?
Posted by MonkeyMan18975@reddit | GenX | View on Reddit | 635 comments
I've been smoking cannabis since the early 80s and as one would guess, 40 years of inhaling smoke from charred plant material has done a number on my lungs. It got to the point I couldn't take a hit without hacking up a lung (note: My LDCTs show my lungs are clear, so this isn't a pulmonology related emergency.)
That is, until I got a desktop flower vape a few weeks back. I still cough a little, but it's about 1/10th as much as I typically would. And then there's the TASTE! Terps with no smoke to hide them are amazing.
Just load up the chamber, heat it up, fill a bag, and sit there taking puffs off it until it's gone. Never been easier :)
Chuckles_McNut@reddit
I'm amazed at how many people are into this- have tried several kinds of flower vapes including the PAX and they all sucked for me. Still just hitting it out of pipes most of the time
high_everyone@reddit
Don’t use PAX devices. I use the Arizer Solo and it runs like a train.
I always tell people to stop combustion (smoking) for at least a week or two before trying it because the combustion adds some carcinogens you really want out of your system before you try dry herb vapes.
Chuckles_McNut@reddit
Well thanks for the info- but I've used others such as the Volcano, and the old school Brown desktop ones with the tube... and the high has just never hit the same... If it did I would've stuck with it.
What you say about stopping for a time first though is interesting -it would obviously affect tolerance but not sure that would have any impact on the quality of the high itself
idiotsbydesign@reddit
I just can't smoke the stuff thats out there now. When I smoked it was always Mexican brick weed. The stuff I get now just gets me too high. I want to relax & mellow out. Not travel to another dimension. And it makes me super paranoid & stressed out. I just haven't been able find anything to get a nice mellow high.
Regular_Stress5502@reddit
Dry herb vape. For me, I feel like we get better flavor with the convection instead of combustion.
wishiwasyou333@reddit
That's how I smoke mine. Works great! Still get a little harsh rip sometimes though, depending on the type of flower.
Buzzbait_PocketKnife@reddit
He’ll yeah. I use a POTV Lobo. It’s freakin awesome.
NoPaleontologist1116@reddit
Another vote for the Lobo here. Great machine.
matthewamerica@reddit
After over 3 decades of smoking tobacco and weed, I switched to smoking thc sugar with a Terp-Pen and gave up cigarettes completely. My lungs have never been better, and after 35 years I had to do something or bust a blood vessel in my eye every time I smoked from all the coughing. I do miss flower though. I have been thinking about getting some sort of dry herb vape just as a compromise between the two.
raisinghellions@reddit
I detest vaping. I cough for weeks after. And yeah flower is also doing a number on my lungs, so I’m unhappily trying to get used to edibles.
coal_the_cat@reddit
So, before you eat an edible (gummies anyway) you should eat a spoonful of peanut butter. The fat content of PB gives the little thc compounds something to stick to, increases effectivity ten-fold. That actually applies to any gummy supplements one might also be taking
spiralradius62@reddit
100% - I just make the carboxylated flower and have it in a peanut sandwich - perfect
KaleidoscopeSilly797@reddit
Also eating a mango an hour before weed, gets you more stoned.
Anxious-One-2365@reddit
Interesting. I will try this. Thanks for heads up.
raisinghellions@reddit
Good to know! Thanks!
YesNoMaybe@reddit
Are you talking about dry herb vaping?
raisinghellions@reddit
No, oil vaping. I’m literally looking into a good dry herb product right now based on this comment section
UtahSpartan80s@reddit
The edibles mess with my stomach. Only live resin vapes, or cured if I’m in a pinch. The solvents that kill me.
raisinghellions@reddit
Yeah I don’t care for edibles. Take too long to hit, not a lot of continuity from batch to batch as far as strength, and I prefer to control my levels of high. But vapes are a hard no based on how they tear my lungs up, and flower is putting too many miles on the old airbags.
DrSuperCougarCT@reddit
I have literally never smoked weed in my life and I'm completely lost reading about all the paraphernalia you're all posting about on this thread. It's kind of fascinating, but I'm completely clueless when it comes to this stuff. How did you all learn how to do this, with all the different methods and modes of delivery? I must have led a very sheltered life.
TheDarkTurd@reddit
It's all on the information superhighway, my friend. There's reviews, tutorials, etc. Then again, if you don't partake in the devil's lettuce, it will all sound like jibberish either way.
spiralradius62@reddit
40 years of inhaling as well. Now moved on to carboxylated weed - I just sprinkle it in anything tasty (slice of bread with peanut butter or a bit of cheese) and 90 minutes later I'm high as I want. Super easy to adjust the potency of the session. No smoke and no problem with cops doing roadside saliva drug tests. This is the way
Annanake420@reddit
I love how verbiage changes meaning over the years. A session was called that because multiple people got together to smoke in a communal way. And now it's used for someone spreading peanut butter on bread alone in their home.
stillcoolrr@reddit
🤣🤣🤣
spiralradius62@reddit
True but your teenage friends move away, you don't drop in on people unannounced anymore, your have adult shit to do but deep inside my 20 year old says come on dude let's get ripped - I do a pretty normal life, job, wife, burbs etc but I sure do love getting high on the sly every evening - it connects me with my whole life journey. Plus the group of stoners I hang with are all in their 60's and when we sesh it's the best - great stories, good music, big bongs and munchies. Life's been good to me so far .
Beginning-Head3152@reddit
How safe is vaping oil for your lungs?
TheDarkTurd@reddit
Yup, quit back in 2007. Started back up in 2019. Read about DHV and got me a little xmax starry. After that, dynavap, after that some S&B products, now I'm looking at the Tempest 2.
I still smoke a joint here and there but DHV is my jam for the most part.
JasmineandRose82@reddit
Vape all the way!
PalatialNutlet@reddit
Not only but yes
DeviantHellcat@reddit
I switched to a dry herb vape a couple of years ago, then I make edibles with the ABV.
DevilsLettuceTaster@reddit
I dry herb vape, use carts, and edibles.
Just ordered a Studenglass gravity bong earlier today and look forward to that.
Elizacat09@reddit
Really wanna start using tincture but it’s super hard to find in Texas.
high_everyone@reddit
Get on TCUP. They’ll sell you tincture.
Or just buy flower, bake it in the oven low and slow for a few hours and soak with some MCT oil for a few hours more and you have your own tincture. Cut it however you see fit. It isn’t pretty but it’ll be way cheaper than what TCUP sells and far more effective.
Elizacat09@reddit
Tysm!
HectorsMascara@reddit
Vape makes me cough much more easily than flower.
StateProfessional666@reddit
I have lung no issues from smoking weed. I've literally smoked every day since I was 17 and never had an issue. I turn 50 in June. I never exercise. Used to smoke cigs and that was a problem, but never weed. Vape and flower.
SignificantRecipe715@reddit
Nope, bong girlie for life haha
4allthekitties@reddit
Just gonna say the tag line did *not* make me think of …. actually vaping.
daemonhat@reddit
i quit smoking weed not long after i quit the cigs a little over 5 years ago. i'll hit a vape pen once in a while or maybe take a 1-2mg edible. sadly the copd from a 37 year pack a day habit has started in on me so i avoid inhaling anything but air as much as possible. plus for whatever reason my enjoyment of smoking weed just went to shit. it all tastes/smells kinda like stale cigarette smoke to me now. unburned it smells wonderful, i love it. but it is what it is.
QBee_TNToms_Mom@reddit
38 years of Marlboro Lights. Emphysema.
VermicelliEfficient9@reddit
Gave “Up in smoke” 10 years ago and have been making my own edibles ever since from my own crops. I even converted the wife.
kbchucker@reddit
Seltzers ftw
LuckyNo13Lady@reddit
Just edibles now
Agreeable_Argument88@reddit
1975 Gen X - Started smoking cigs in 1986 & flower in 1988. I went straight to edibles around the same time I started vaping my nicotine in 2013. IDK if it was cigs or flower but within 5 days my smokers cough was easing off & a few days after that I noticed that it was COMPLETELY GONE! I had been a pack a day Marlboro red smoker since the early 90's, so it was no surprise to me that I'd have a heavy smokers cough after 20+ years. It was a MASSIVE surprise for it to just vanish overnight & never to return. I miss the taste of the flower, because I actually LOVED that taste & smell, but I don't miss the health risks that went away alongside that hack. Even though I would PREFER to smoke or dry vape my flower nothing in the world is worth taking those risks ever again.
Vamfyrerotik@reddit
I do the 2 gram disposable vapes.
aunt_cranky@reddit
Yes. We have multiple smokeless vaporizers. (Even one that looks like an old school hermit pipe).
Husband still likes the old school combustion but we won't do that in the house with the windows closed
Leather-Newt-3910@reddit
I have a Pax 3 and I like it especially since you can vape concentrate with it but the chamber is small and it's kind of a bitch to clean .
Edibles are fun at times but I will always be drawn to the body high from smoking
user86753092@reddit
I had bought a few different flower vapes. I ended up with oil vapes.
I don’t want to jinx myself, but I bought this vape in December and it is still going strong. It has a very slight scent.
The flower vapes were too smelly and I would warm it up then forget it and it would die. I need instant gratification
_flowerfox@reddit
I still "wake & bake" with coffee and a bowl, but I also use a Lobo from Planet of the Vapes. Love it! Usually I take a few bowl hits then a couple Lobo hits... good on pain till 420.
mtrxgltchs@reddit
The morning toke is the best!
FyreSign@reddit
Yup. That and edibles
AngelHeart-@reddit
I bought a Storz & Bickel Volcano about 15 years ago. I also have one of their mini portable vapes.
Awesome machines. The company isn’t the same as it used to be so there’s a chance you may get a dick on the phone if you call customer service.
Other than that the machines are top notch.
mtrxgltchs@reddit
I bought a Volcano many years ago and I ended up selling it. I lived in a prohibition state at the time and it just took too much flower. Now that I'm in a rec legal state, I find myself wishing I still had it. May just have to buy another. Enjoy!
whispering_opinions@reddit
I like the Rove pods and I'll use them now over herb bc I don't like my house and stuff to smell of weed. But I do enjoy an edible too. Stuff is strong af now.
Neomorder224@reddit
Yes, dry herb vaping past 3 years. Tiny Might 2 and a DynaVap.
I was never a blunt smoker, used a Small Marley bubbler for years before switching to the TM2.
mtrxgltchs@reddit
Yep. Been doing the dry herb vape for about 13 years.
Feisty_Ad6420@reddit
I went from smoking my herb in a small water pipe to a Magic Flight Launch Box vape and then a Pax3 vape for dry flower. Each one progressively better than the last for ease of use, lung function, and decreased issues with clearing my throat a lot. Eventually, they all got my bronchial passages irritated to the point where I use gummies exclusively now.
But it's just not the same. That Pax3 really delivered on the best terp flavor and an amazing (if shorter duration) high.
Lucky_Zin@reddit
Yes, I am! and have been dry herb vaping for 10 years.
notbossyboss@reddit
You betcha. Dry flower in my Arizer 2.
deadline_zombie@reddit
The Solo 2 got me through the panedemic. I've been thinking of getting Solo 2 max or III but it still works and no issues so I'm sticking with it.
projectsmith@reddit
14 years dry vaping
grateful_john@reddit
I’ve tried a few dry herb vapes, I can’t get into them for whatever reason. Joints or edibles (or joints and edibles). Edibles are too unpredictable to me sometimes - when’s it going to kick in, how high am I going to get?
I avoid cartridges unless I’m hanging with people and it’s all they have.
mountainsun9@reddit
This is how you end up in a van down by the river 🚐🏞️
typhona@reddit
Planning on getting a dry herb pen. I just dont like the liquid vapes. I quit smoking cugs in 2013 via vaping, but it just doesn't do the same for my the prefernces

Freeflying_Dragon@reddit
Try the Pax dry vape. Great choice for dry flower. Have been using one for years now.
loud_momma@reddit
The dry herb vape from G Pen is really similar the Pax at a lower price. Love mine.
SquatOnAPitbull@reddit
I remember the first time I hit a Pax. I was confused and thought it was just another vape, and then the homie put the green in, and he told me to hit it. I couldn't believe it at first, and then I was high as a kite and still couldn't believe it.
Then I ate like 7 tostinos pizzas, followed by a California burrito. Fucking great day.
But yeah, Pax are the business.
Not_a_fan_of_me@reddit
I’m part of the rare group for which edibles don’t do squat. I have to eat a very heavy dose to feel anything. I like flower because I can control my dosage better. Most vapes leave my lungs feeling like they have wax coating them. There are some newer styles that I like
sonamata@reddit
Don't know if this applies to you, but I learned that estrogen levels impact tolerance. Mine went to zero basically overnight, and my tolerance also heavily increased. I have to take at least 120mg of edibles to feel anything.
pidgeon92@reddit
Menopause. It ruins everything. 🫠
sonamata@reddit
I can't do HRT & honestly, CAN I GET A CRUMB OF RELIEF
Not_a_fan_of_me@reddit
Not in my case. I read a study that essentially said that the receptors for ingesting are slightly different than the receptors in your lungs from inhalation. I ate a cookie before walking into a concert and the guy who made them looked startled and told me to have fun…they had been splitting 1 cookie amongst 8 people. It was the only time I felt anything from edibles. I just don’t have the amount of receptors as most people
sonamata@reddit
So interesting! I didn't know that about pain meds.
realzoidberg@reddit
Yeah, they have to give me the STRONG STUFF if I ever go to the hospital. I had heard it's something to do with missing enzymes from your liver that fail to process the edible.
realzoidberg@reddit
Hey, same here! I was eating Exodus Gigibytes (500 mg) until they stopped making them. I had to take about 5 or 6 to feel anything. People think I'm lying to them that it doesn't hit me like everyone else. I wish I could just nibble on one and get a hit. Would be a lot cheaper.
itsrainingkids@reddit
I’m the same way! I bought many many different kinds of edibles and taken at least 300 grams with no effect. I’m so bummed. You’re right a little 10 mg would be wonderful and way cheaper. Also I’ve been smoking 45 years. I’ve got a pen to be discreet but I’d much rather be smoking. I like the terpenes.
Obvious_Lab_2326@reddit
AND you get to control the cannabinoids, which is great since some of those which can cause paranoia are released at higher temps. 387° is magnificent.
Responsible_Trash_40@reddit
I’m 100% edibles
schultz100@reddit
I am recently loving the drinks. It hits a little quicker and is more social, especially if you are with drinkers.
KLLR_ROBOT@reddit
Any recommendations?
schultz100@reddit
There are honestly all pretty good. I just look for a 'cocktail' that sounds good and give it a try. Haven't gone too wrong yet. I find bars/stores that have them generally have 1-2 brands.

Finally went the vape way last year. Got a desktop as well. Haven't combusted since. I feel like I have my lungs back
kinthiri@reddit
I have a dry herb & resin vape. Still like my bong, but the vape is really good when out somewhere and I need to calm the people-fried nerves before returning to whatever is going on
The vape is good, but it feels like every ounce needs a different temperature and the first few puffs are just trying to find that sweet spot between burning smoke and vapor
NightGod@reddit
Vape and edibles. I can't smoke flower, it's too much like tobacco and I spent way too long breaking that habit to ever risk going back
SnootchieBootichies@reddit
I did for many years. Much preferred to smoking it. Edibles are fine but they’re a commitment. I stopped all cannabis use in 2020 but the 4-5yrs leading up to that was all vaping. Evening making my own juice
timsfsn@reddit
So much easier than flower and no coughing.
MrBrawn@reddit
I wish we could get shit like this.

This. I drink my THC.
Ok-Rock2345@reddit
Stay away from vaping, it will kill your lungs even faster. I known thos from experience.
As much as I hate doing math, I find edibles and tinctures are to fo.
MrBrawn@reddit
Im done with edibles as I dont respond other than just passing out. I only vape cause I dont want the smell.
Martianmallo@reddit
Nah, man. Keepin it green. I WISH I could have some of that mid-90s Washington Square Park, NYC bud. Good times.

I really miss ditch weed with like 5-15% thc as I enjoy a smoke, but not the munchies. AZ has no thc-v flower that I’m aware of these days. Frankenweed at dispensaries is not as pleasant or it’s just my age. I didn’t start till 44.
kckitty71@reddit
I didn’t start until I was 52 years old. It helps with my anxiety.
No_Inevitable_3241@reddit
I have tried the PAX Dry flower vape two different times over the years. I could never make it hit correctly. Finally found the Propipe 2. All brass. I do wish I could figure out dry vaping. Maybe I am to old.

I’ve learned it takes the whole bag after a few months. 😬😁
rswanker@reddit
My doctor said I should avoid vaping, she believes the current data suggest it is more dangerous than just smoking it (esp. through a bong or similar). But I guess I don't understand vaping flower vs. vaping oil etc.
HistoricalStatus5577@reddit
Interesting thread esp since we are the age where we are all getting the lectures and/or seeing the effects, thanks!

I vape ground flower with a flowerpot B1 rig. I've always been a bong rip fan and this works perfect.
gambitgrl@reddit
I've tried the disposable vapes a few times just so I can sneak hits at concerts and such but don't like them because they smoke different, aggravate my throat, and there hasn't been nearly enough research on exactly wtf they're doing to our lungs.
misterlopez2019@reddit
I have a vaporizer from Vapor Brothers dot com and it’s been working well for me for about 20 years or so - glass pieces that I can wash, ceramic screens and it’s a nice looking and great working machine!
Govinda74@reddit
Also started getting high on the daily around 88-89. I still mostly use a bong (double chamber, so I can fill my whole lung capacity without coughing) but I have tried the dry flower vape and it is absolute flavor heaven! I know I should just make the switch, guess I'm just stubborn lol. Cheers man!
Maleficent_Bit2033@reddit
I vape exclusively now. Edibles do nothing for me as my body just doesn't take to it. I am a bit allergic to it and have to be careful of my terps but flower is worse for my allergies. I also only vape at night before bed. I use a CBD/CBG tincture that is THC free during the day and it does wonders for my gut and inflammation. I've smoked since the 80s and it's nice to have so many options. It still feels weird to go to a store to buy and my hubby still looks over his shoulder as the lookout.
Intelligent-Exam-334@reddit
No vape. All flower. Bong or pipe. J's at concerts. I tried with the flower vape back around 2000 but it didn't take. Graduating from the soda can was peak for me I guess.
catshark2o9@reddit
The soda can! Man those are memories
Intelligent-Exam-334@reddit
Yup. And the plastic flute (or "recorder") they gave out in 7th or 8th grade becoming "baby's 1st bong". Good times. Simpler times.
Low_Notice4665@reddit
Nah, too many chemicals added. Pure flower in this house.
baabaabaabeast@reddit
He means a dry flower vape, not a vape with distillate, chemicals, etc added to it. Just treat it like a bong, but no combustion
Low_Notice4665@reddit
Ha lol. I’m not even smoking yet💚
baabaabaabeast@reddit
All good!
eyeballburger@reddit
I think there’s a slight variation to the high, I still like bong tokes and a blunt, but my sister always rocks the vapes. They’re too easy. First time I tried it a few years back it caught me by surprise, how potent it is without feeling like I was doing anything.
MassConsumer1984@reddit
Edibles and flower vape.
dingatremel@reddit
I vape mostly to comply with my apartments rules, but also because I need to be subtle about it now that my kid is old enough to know.
Personally, I don’t prefer the high and I’m not sure it’s any safer. But it is what it is.
(For some reason, edibles sometimes don’t hit at all for me)
Minirth22@reddit
I feel you so hard. I was so grateful for concentrates when they came around because it made it so much easier to hide it! Completely agree on not preferring that high and wondering about the safety, but while I was working in-office, it made me feel much safer about mingling with the sober (poor miserable bastards). The early vape juice did NOTHING for me, but now the disposable pens, although horrendous for the environment, are insanely convenient, cheap, and effective.
I’m back to flower most of the time, and keep the vape pens around. I don’t bother with concentrate often now, but at some point I’ll be in the mood again. (The rig is just such a pain in the ass, but it’s the most effective way I’ve ever gotten super high super fast.)
EOLrightsiguess@reddit
I had to go the edible route as well - lungs were suffering. I make brownies with an ardent fx. I miss a pipe, though.
nvr2manydogs@reddit
Recipe?
EOLrightsiguess@reddit
Use any brand mix! And sub ghee for the oil. I don't have a sophisticated measurement for the flower. The machine does the decarb and infusion. 😊
nvr2manydogs@reddit
Thank you.
LoreKeeper2001@reddit
Yes, vaping is my preferred method by far for that very reason. I don't like edibles because they take so long to come on.
Grdngirl@reddit
Edibles and I’m all about CBN, CBG, CBD and THC for the “Entourage effect”. I prefer it over pure THC. I get cozy and not baked and stupid. I refuse to inhale anything other than H20 into my lungs.
QuashEm@reddit
I highly (no pun intended, really) recommend the Mighty from a company called Storz & Bickel. The best tasting hits, super easy to clean...and after you're done, dump the plant matter in a jar and use it to make infused butter or olive oil. Save money and your lungs.
Instimatic@reddit
I do, as well and for the same reasons. Ever since quitting cigarettes, I can barely smoke a joint without coughing
Semi-related: if you have access to infused beverages, I highly recommend trying them. Edibles don’t do anything for me but the drinks are such an enjoyable buzz
Minirth22@reddit
I haven’t tried them yet, I shall! Thank you.
deauxpass@reddit
Currently using planet of the vapes brand flower vape, and have a volcano too. No lung problems or coughing like when combusting flower, but damn, nothing beats lighting up a hooter.

Mostly RSO for maintenance and a morning tree 🌳 out of habit
pchandler45@reddit
I've been dabbing concentrates for almost 15 years now. I almost never smoke flower anymore
Mike9797@reddit
Nah, I like the ritual of the joint still. I find the vape to be too fast. I like going out back and sitting on my phone or whatever for 30-45mins and being away from everyone for a bit.
Accidental-Aspic2179@reddit
I try to use flower in the morning and a vape in the evening. I don't like what the vaping is doing to my tolerance, so I think I'm just going to try and move more toward RSO capsules and flower, or just flower.
I haven't had a lot of experience with the oral RSO capsules so I really don't know if that's something I'd enjoy or not. I already have to eat more than an entire bag of 10mg edibles to even feel anything. I don't even smoke a lot. Maybe 2g a day, if that. Next time I go to the dispensary I think I'm going get some triple stack 30mg RSO capsules and pop a few of them and see how I do. I can handle being high and only a few times have I ever gotten "too high" on cannabis.
davidcoons@reddit
My missus started vaping flower last year. Huge upgrade from the chemical vapes and she's never been into smoking it. We got a portable vape so all the benefits of the little pen, with all the goodness of natural flower.
We're still saving the spent flower to try and use in a pain balm or something like that. Plenty of uses left for it.
She only has a cough if her glass pipe isn't clean. As long as she keeps that clean, she doesn't cough at all

Dry herb vape with a side of flower on occasion and vaping if I need to be discreet
MaximumJones@reddit
I have switched to gummies and now get all the benefits without the putrid odor.
BobsMustache@reddit
I wish gummies worked for me. Not sure if I’m just that saturated with thc but they do nothing for me. It has been awhile since I’ve had some so maybe another try wouldn’t hurt.
Smallmyfunger@reddit
With edibles I don't really feel anything unless I consume ~30mg, then I just feel queasy stomach. They don't give me a "head high" nor any sort of pain relief even. At least so far trying several different brand gummies. 40 yrs ago eating weed cookies friends always loved them but I would only get headaches from them - I always thot it was becuz they used mostly "shake".
jjillf@reddit
Look into Chill Country. It comes in 10 microdoses. Like 3 is my sweet spot (I’m kinda little, not sure if that matters). But with 10 available per gummy, I feel confident you’ll get there. 5 knocks me on my ass.
bowtielowride@reddit
I've looked this up before because I thought I had a similar issue. Basically, it's because your body doesn't have the enzymes to process it properly.

Interesting. I wonder if there is a hack akin to adding lemon juice to shrooms that makes the chemical more readily available to the body

All Dude wants is his rug back…and I would love for gummies to work as far as THC goes. However, I usually get some like a 1:1 with some CBD, CBN and CBG to help with old person pains at a dispensary. There has also been some quite questionable ones from music festivals….
MommyXMommy@reddit
Some people do a lot better with chocolate based edibles because of the bit of fat in them. It can also help to take your gummy with a couple bites of a fatty food!
badhoopty@reddit
ive only tried the 5mg ones, last time i took 4 and still felt basically nothing.
PepsiOfWrath@reddit
I did too, but don’t feel the same, do you get the same high ?
MaximumJones@reddit
Exactly the same. The potency is what matters I think.
PepsiOfWrath@reddit
If I up the potency, I just get hard core disassociation, but no giggles or fun times like I used to with the real stuff. I didn't know if I changed, or that it's a different product.
PigletTechnical9336@reddit
That might also depend on whether you’re taking indica instead of sativa. There’s different types of gummies that give different types of high, just as with flowers.
bowtielowride@reddit
It's a different high. The body processes them differently.

Me too, that's why I vape
ThatMeasurement3411@reddit
Gummies just make my eyes sensitive to the light and I feel tired. No fun at all. :(

FabAmy@reddit
I've been a consumer since 1987, and worked in the industry for 13 years. No way would I vape. I am still a flower grrl, with edibles at night.
alargepowderedwater@reddit
Why would you not vape?
FabAmy@reddit
Flower, yes. Carts? No. I hate the taste and effects.
AnastasiaNo70@reddit
Cart high is the worst high I’ve ever had.
FabAmy@reddit
It's not a great high, and doesn't last nearly as long as flower.
Myfreakinglyfe@reddit
Yessssss! I bought a Pax 3. It’s a travel vape. Little to no coughing and the terps are delicious!
melty75@reddit
Dry herb vape predominantly (dynavap with an induction heater).
Still do the penjamins and Js with friends.
THC_Dude_Abides@reddit
Ball Vape, Dynavap, and a Puffco Proxy. But mainly I just hit a rosin cart. Easy, discreet, barely any smell and I don’t have to worry about my cats burning themselves on a 650 degree metal hammer nicknamed Mjölnir.

I cant do vape. Whatever the heat source is irritates me throat. This make me hack up a lung every time. Strictly a flower girl.

Impressive-Shame-525@reddit
My wife's firefly finally, after 10years? Bit the dust.
New ones aren't the same. Quality has gone to shit.
Cracklinwheat@reddit
That’s a huge bummer to hear. Mine is nearing end of lifecycle and I was actually looking forward to getting a new one thinking they would have upgraded the tech in the 7-8 years I’ve had it.
Impressive-Shame-525@reddit
They sold out.
So originally Mark Williams of Apple fame and somekne else I can't remember made it. Then they sold it to Slag? Slam? Some conglomerate that produced the Firefly 2 and 2+ and as of like 2024 they're not making any more.
dementio@reddit
I do sometimes. I keep an indica & sativa cart inside, but generally just sit in the garage and grind & fill my own cones. I generally vape if I need to be around more people.
RoyalPuzzleheaded259@reddit
I switched to a dry herb vape for a few years but have switched back to smoking this last year. I just seem to enjoy it more when smoked as opposed to vaped.
iloveturtles88@reddit
After toking for decades, I quit a year ago. Idk how anyone can afford to buy weed or alcohol. I think what you're doing is safer than vaping the THC oil.
AnastasiaNo70@reddit
Because of weed (I only started using it at 54 years old), I was able to go off 11 prescription medications.
Because I dry vape, an ounce lasts me about 11 weeks. And I use it at least twice a day, every day (it’s incredibly efficient with just a tiny bit of weed).
AND what you have left over is decarb and we put that in fatty foods like ice cream or peanut butter and get high twice off the same weed.
So I buy about 5 ounces of weed a year. $900 a year or thereabouts. That’s $75 a month.
The prescriptions I no longer take totaled $400 a month, and that’s with insurance.
By getting high every day, I’m healthier and $325 a month better off.
Praise Mother Cannabis.
iloveturtles88@reddit
That's great. I have no problem with marijuana except my inability to moderate. I'm glad it's helped your quality of life.

VansAndFaygo@reddit
I still use my one-hitter most of the time. I'll roll one or pack a bowl if I'm sharing. I'm still getting used to gummies.
IllustriousEast4854@reddit
No. I'm super new to this. I never tried anything until 6 years ago. And their were years in between trying. Took multiple different edibles and tried to smoke a joint. I didn't know how to smoke and couldn't figure it out.
But I've finally found the right dose (100mg) and figured out that edibles work best with something sweet. Candy, cookies, etc.
I only use occasionally. And today happens to be one.
Edibles take a long time to kick in but they last a long time.
This is a wonderful experience. I wish I had experienced it before I was 48.
kikivee612@reddit
Check the amount of CBD in them. The more CBD the less of a high you’re gonna get.
Bromodrosis@reddit
I find it also smoothies the edges.
AnastasiaNo70@reddit
It’s the fat. Eating something fatty with edibles makes it more effective. The THC is more bioavailable.
IllustriousEast4854@reddit
That makes sense. Analogous to, but different from, fat soluble vitamins such as D.
LostTiredWanderer@reddit
I prefer a doob but I have vaped because of the smell. Im really worried about the chemicals in the vape
Apprehensive-Log8333@reddit
I switched to vaping when the pandemic started, and OMG what a difference. First, it paid for itself within a couple months. I was always at a quarter a week, but I bought an ounce on 11/28/25 and I think it will last 6 months. Which is CRAZY to me. It's like magic. I only vape once a day and get wrecked every time. It is SO EFFICIENT. I wish I had known that ten years ago.
Also, I haven't had bronchitis in all this time, and I used to get it every year. And it smells and tastes so much better. Back in my combustion days, I would have told you that weed smoke doesn't smell bad. But when I spend time with my joint-smoking friend, it smells bad and tastes worse. I'll never go back. I have a Da Buddha Vape and I love it

kcsews@reddit
Tons of chemicals are used to make the oils for vapes...source, hubby saw the drums with danger! Toxic and flammable. Stick with gummies. Been smoking weed since 80
W_J_B68@reddit
Not with a dry herb vape. You just use flower.
Many_Fill3044@reddit
I've worship the bubbling waters since 1981 and still smoking out of a bong today.

DaddyOhMy@reddit
I have a few flower vapes. The oldest one is an Arizer Argo which is great for walking around. Then during quarantine I won a Dynavap and love it. The only issue is it's not great for using while walking around. The fact that it looks like a crack pipe is definitely part of the reason. But man is it so much smoother than smoking a joint
sjjenkins@reddit
+1 for team Dynavap. Combustion sucks.
Common_Science_8838@reddit
Yes I’ve moved to a dry herb vaporizer a few years ago. I have a desktop and 2 portables to interchange on the go.
arlenroy@reddit
Guess I need to Google what a dry herb vaporizer is, I keep seeing this commented. I've been sticking to disposable vapes for a couple years now, but I only take a couple puffs before the shower, so even a small 2mg vape will dry up before I smoke it all. I have a few edibles now, like gum drops, but it took me so long to figure out what's the right dose. First few times were not fun, I was hanging on the side of the earth, about to fall off. Whenever those are gone I have to figure out what my dose is when I get more.
Common_Science_8838@reddit
I don’t like edibles for that reason. Also I stick to certain strains for their terpene profiles bc I use it medicinally for pain and migraines. I have more control over how I’m feeling or how I react to it using flower.
Also the propylene glycol in vape pens triggers migraines for me when using them. I also prefer a good hybrid strain over Sativas that can be too heady or straight indicas that’ll knock you on your ass! Og kush is my fave!
AnastasiaNo70@reddit
You’re talking about cartridges/pens.
They’re talking about DHV (dry herb vapes). It uses flower at temps lower than combustion.
Ok-Maize-284@reddit
I had one (Pax) for years that I loved. I would still use it, but it stinks. Not as bad as smoking it smells, but still strong enough to be noticeable. I mainly vape because it doesn’t smell, so that would defeat the purpose. However, I’m guessing it’s probably better for you than smoking or vaping.

Yes, vaporizing is the way to go... look into the portable Vaporizers by Storz and Bickel the make the table top Volcano and their portables are incredible. I have the Crafty+ awesome unit.
Also if you don't over vape your flower there is still alot of viable THC that has been decarbed. So you can use the AVB (Already Vaped Bud) in edibles or sprinkle onto your food.😋 Nothing like getting more than one sesh outta your flower.😁
nasti-moosebite@reddit
Check out the Arizer Solo 3. Incredible little device, easy to clean, water pipe ready, and all glass airway. Easy to clean and keep clean.

I’m 47 and I smoke in a gravity bong it’s a 2 liter in a bucket of water and 1 hit is all I need lol it does pack a punch but nothing else comes close
kikivee612@reddit
It’s possible you were coughing because this weed has s a lot stronger than the seedy brick weed we grew up on. I keep mine in sealed glass jars in the freezer and I feel it stays fresh longer and hits a lot smoother.
I’ve got vapes too for when I want to have a buzz but not smell like I just walked out of a Grateful Dead show! It’s good, but there’s something so much better about sitting there and smoking a joint!

I have to vape now 'cause my lungs are knackered from years of smoke, but I really miss that almost instant high that I got from a small pipe. With a vape or joint you just don't get that. It creeps in and sure you're nicely stoned but it's just not the same.

fuzzybunnyslippers08@reddit
I like what you are mentioning here because I do find smoking weed tends to make my tinnitus worse
FarCry5372@reddit
Been smoking an ounce a week since the 80s. My dr. tells me that my lungs "sound like the lungs of a young man" to which I replied "Doc, in all due respect, how the fuck can that be?". Two other doctors have said the same thing, I dont get it. I smoke mostly water bong or one hitter and then I THC oil vape also.
greggerypeccary@reddit
It’s just a much lighter and relatively benign particulate compared to say, tobacco smoke.
intensive-porpoise@reddit
Ehhhhh.... It's not like the particulate can be 'less benign' - it's friggin carbon, which is bad news in general. Similar exhaust gasses, but it isn't a vasoconstrictor like nicotine
Genny415@reddit
Vapor doesn't have carbon, though, because there's no combustion
Thus it's not at all like exhaust gases because again, there's no combustion. It's literally just hot air passing over the herb, and whatever volatile get vaporized at that temperature, like steam
intensive-porpoise@reddit
Good call, sorry ... At 11

I had to do a long questionnaire and blood work for a life insurance policy recently and the guy said that there would be a hit for any cannabis usage (which would increase the premium). I was like, well there definitely will be since I was honest in my answers, lol. He said, it'll turn up in the blood work.
When it came back there wasn't a single note about cannabis and they said it tested negative! I was like, that is absolutely impossible, but it's their test so who am I to question it?
Also, to the thread question, yes, i use a dry herb vape for flower and only smoke joints/bowl if I'm at a concert and get one passed or something.
FarCry5372@reddit
That is wild. That was not discussed or noted anywhere when I did my life insurance.
YesNoMaybe@reddit
I don't know your details but i have had a few smaller policies that didn't require any exam or questions. When it got near the 7 figure mark is where they started getting more intrusive.
Pfunk4444@reddit
Have you ever had a CT scan? Not a terrible idea since you are a long-term smoker. A lot of people have some significant emphysema and never know until the wheels fall off.
Next time you have PCP appointment ask for a screening CT of your lungs, if you’re interested.
tunaman808@reddit
Yes, mostly. Flower kills me these days.
I have an online source for Delta 8 vape cartridges; I buy 10-packs when they're on sale for 30-40% off. They cost anywhere from $5.70 to $6.80 each, depending on the sale. They're my daily driver because they don't smell, so I can vape in bed next to my wife, who HATES the smell of weed.
I also have a hookup for actual weed vapes. His stuff is good, but it reeks. There's no hiding what you're vaping with this stuff!
Alley_cat_alien@reddit
Now I prefer edibles. They are just convenient, don’t stink, and I’m not guessing on the dose.
InternAny4601@reddit
Yes. Using a handheld vape and a Moosemouth filter. It’s a nice filter than takes almost all of the particulate out. So still get a nice dragon toke about once a bowl but for the most part no smoke. Added benefit? It’s portable.
bullydog123@reddit
If it has THC in it I will consume it. I like vaps when out and about. And flower at home
UnhingedBlonde@reddit

PigletTechnical9336@reddit
Nope only edibles because I worry about the effects of smoking on the respiratory system. I’m 50, so I care about the quality of life as I age in a way I did not care 30 years ago.
joceyposse@reddit
I only do edibles too. But I’ve been sorta frustrated with the wait time these days. Have you had any luck with tinctures? I’m wanting something that works a bit faster but don’t want to smoke/vape.
PigletTechnical9336@reddit
Tinctures work a little faster but honestly I just take the gummy 1-2 hrs ahead of when I want to be feeling the effect. I know it’s more of a thing you have to plan but I think my body will thank me.
Tranesblues@reddit
I feel like I'm in that same transition at 51. Edibles probably will be 100 percent by next year.

Elegant-Pineapple-56@reddit
I'm a lightweight and don't need much to get the desired effect, so I use rosin carts. I tried a vaporizer but went back to the carts. I smoke my joints at home & vape on the go. While I don’t care what anyone thinks about me & it’s legal where I live, I love that the vapes don’t produce the heavy oppressive stinky clouds of smoke & nobody needs to know my business.
Shawnk_69@reddit
This is the statement I would have posted. Lol. With the add on of sometimes I'll eat 3 gummies at night to help with my feet when they act up.
yenten923@reddit
I bounce back and forth. Vape for a few months and then I'll go back to flower. And edibles when we go out or go away someplace.
Tall-Yard-407@reddit
Both smoking and vaping make me cough like a mofo. It’s so disappointing because, yeah, you can get such an awesome taste when vaping—but I still cough.
I’ve had to resort to edibles. It’s not the same.
G3n3r1cc0unt@reddit
I agree. Edibles are just not the same. I always smoked flower, then started vaping. But found that with the vape pen, I ended up smoking all the time. I would essentially microdose with my pen. Then I’d go hit the bong a few times a day too. My issue was that I never stayed high that long. So I kept smoking up. I’m currently taking a break from weed. Haven’t smoked at all in 2026. This was after toking up daily since high school. No reason other than to give my lungs a break. It was boring at first, but I’m okay now. I think I miss the ritual of smoking. I’ll probably smoke again. I love it too much to stop forever. But for now, I’m okay without it.
SquirrelBowl@reddit
Been vaping as my primary THC source for about 7 years. Edibles at night. Smoke it occasionally but I hate the lingering smell on me
aminor321@reddit
Gummies for the win, my dude.
Genny415@reddit
Vaping all the way. I wish I could do edibles instead but I am a very low responder to oral ingestion, so it doesn't work for me. So vaping it is. Arizer is a third of the price of a volcano.

Phog_of_War@reddit
Still hitting the flower old school with lifhter and pipe. It's far more refined now, still stinks but now it only takes 2 or 3 takes and I'm good for a while. Really cut back on the heavy smoking while trying to quit cigarettes. Beat the cigarettes and never went back to the heavy weed smoker I used to be.
Equivalent_County565@reddit
Yes, I started vaping all my flower about ten years ago after smoking for about 40 years also. I have a volcano, mighty +,venty, tiny might2 etc. I like using the volcano occasionally but my daily is the mighty+ and venty but I use water pipe attachments and vape through glass bongs. I have various bongs and rotate them. The taste is great and clouds for days. I’m just getting into dabs testing various methods lol.
KrofftSurvivor@reddit
Edibles. I like my lungs, and I can microdose.

I've used a dry herbal vaporizer, only heats the flower up to the point that THC is released. It's kinda dangerous because you take a hit and nothing. No smoke, no heat, no cough. So you take another and another. Next thing you know, you can't function. It's kinda cool.
I think that is what OP has. They're pretty nice

Pulmonary NP here. Please consider gummies instead. You’d be shocked the lung damage any amount of inhaled toxins can do. Vape smells better but isn’t better for lung tissue. Rough-Chance1335@reddit
For those of you saying “Vaping makes me cough” you cannot hit the vape like a bong. You have to relearn your technique. Just lightly inhale into your mouth and nasal cavity and exhale. The flavor will be amazing btw. The high of vapor does not hit like smoked weed. You will get high but it comes on a bit slower.

I love my Volcano and my Mighty! And, the best part is that you can get double duty from your flower if you stay in lower temp ranges and avoid blackening the bud. I stop when it's toasty browned. Then, I empty my ABV (already been vaped) bud into a mason jar and once I have a good amount, I either infuse it in oil (easier) or extract it with rectified spirits (cleaner extract) and make some kind of edibles with it. I prefer using coconut oil and high quality 70% cacao dark chocolate with some Andes candies for the mint to mask the earthy taste.

The great thing about dry herb vapes is the temperature control - different temps result in different highs. Stick to a low temp for being creative / daytime, ramp up the temp for couch lock.

I cut way back last year, but my go to has been a table top flower vaporizer for years. Absolutely the best for regular consumption.
Today, I take a couple puffs off a joint, once or twice a month, and thats nice too.
PepsiOfWrath@reddit
I remember when smoking I would think everything was really funny and I would be happy. Today, with edibles I just feel disassociated. Is this an age thing or the way I’m consuming it? Think vaping would bring back the silliness?
ScabieBaby@reddit
Edibles and dry vaping or smoking are completely different highs. Way less intense vs dry vape. The body metabolizes the THC differently. It's also much easier to control your intake with dry vaping. My wife uses the gummies to combat the general perimenopausal blues, which works for her, and I'll eat them too but if I actually want to get high, I'm rolling a joint every time.
PepsiOfWrath@reddit
So... is vape closer to an edible feel or smoking? Or does it feel like a third type of high?
PepsiOfWrath@reddit
Also, does vaping still stink of weed, or can they mask the smell with some fruity flavor or something. Mostly want to keep my kids off the dope, while taking the pot myself, DARE I admit it.
ScabieBaby@reddit
Dry vaping is different than oil base vapes like the pens and cartridges they sell. Dry vaping is essentially just super heating pot to the point that it gets vaporized. It still smells like pot, but nowhere near as detectable as if you were to roll up a fatty and burn it down.
Not sure if recreational cannabis is legal where you are, but every dispensary I've been to the people there were extremely accommodating to my needs at first. Hope this helps!
PepsiOfWrath@reddit

bowtielowride@reddit
Vaping feels similar to flower because its processed through the lungs. Edibles feel differently because they are metabolized through the liver.
ScabieBaby@reddit
Gummies are more intense, full body, and I'm less motivated. Dry vape is more like the old days, more functional. I much prefer it.
Dry-Character-6331@reddit
If you think edibles are less intense, you aren't doing it right. The only difference for me is edibles take longer to kick in BUT the effect lasts longer and can be just as intense, depending on dosage
the_answer_is_RUSH@reddit
I’ve found weed just enhances whatever you’re feeling. So I don’t think it’s the method of delivery. I do gummies because I can’t stand coughing and vaping seems like it’s another lung hazard eventually.

yeah, I vape. I love my old reliable Solo II
Smoking0311@reddit
I still like a bong or glass . My homegrown smokes better through glass also .
HeftyAd2780@reddit
I do gummies. I just don’t like the taste or smell of weed 🫣
Apprehensive_Net_829@reddit
I didn't start gardening until I was already in my 40s (49 right now). I mostly do vape carts and edibles. My favorite method is with a bong, but that seems like too much work for just myself (husband doesn't partake).
Smoking0311@reddit
Hitting the bong now before I head back out to the garden 😊
Mattmann1972@reddit
I'm a Venty guy. Still puff once in a while, but I prefer vaping.
klippDagga@reddit
I wish I still had my homemade bong from college that I named the Dr Kervokian. That, and the cheap dirt weed of the time was always a good time.
Not a fan of the modern high potency stuff. It just doesn’t give me the same vibe.
Apprehensive_Net_829@reddit
I'd love to know more about Dr. Kervokian.
bird9066@reddit
I have serious mental health issues. Like occasional breaks from reality on anti psychotic meds.
I have seen shadow people and heard voices in the wind on the wicked strong weed. So I've mostly stopped.
Once in a while I'll get the lowest THC they sell and take a few hits off the bong. Because I'm old and never wore a back brace while doing manual labor.
Odd_Minimum_6683@reddit
Edibles. No muss no fuss and no order to have to explain. Big fan of the gummies. I think I still have a bong somewhere (however anything can be made into a bong)
Pastagiorgio34@reddit
Edibles don’t work for me and take too long
Odd_Minimum_6683@reddit
Sorry about your luck!
Wrong-Barracuda0U812@reddit
For me I’d like to just smoke herb in it’s natural form but the smell doesn’t go well in my house, (wife doesn’t smoke) so I vape but I use the all in one vapes. Almost no smell at all😁
mickthomas68@reddit
I’ve found that vaping aggravates my asthma. Smoking pot does not. And when I first started getting allergy related asthma symptoms in my 40’s, I totally quit smoking for a year, and it had absolutely no effect on my asthma, so I said fuck it, and started smoking pot again. But the vape pen absolutely messes with me.
_antfarmer_@reddit
Wow, I’ve had asthma since childhood but I’m the exact opposite! I can never ever smoke flower, but I vape often for pain management. I do microdose and take little sips rather than deep inhalations until I reach the desired level of relief. My strains of choice are always at least 1:1 (although I have a current favorite that’s 9:1 CBD:THC, and are generally hybrids.
circles_squares@reddit
Edibles!
missysweid@reddit
Hey, can you please link it? Or message me the link, if that's not allowed. My parents are looking for something like this and I would love to be able to recommend something for them.
Still hitting a pipe or joint on the daily but I'm sure someday I'll need to start doing this, too.
Thanks!
Erazzphoto@reddit
I she to stop because of the anxiety it was causing me, but I had switched to purely vaping it, torching is just terrible for you
kingerxi@reddit
Gummies are the next logical step! I have several friends that would never smoke weed, but now they eat gummies all the time and love them. It's nice how edibles have changed some people's attitude toward marijuana. No more Reefer Madness.
Ceorl_Lounge@reddit
Exactly
The_Machine80@reddit
95% of the time. I only smoke/vape a little before bed. So not exactly a stoner per say.
deadbabysteven@reddit
I still prefer flower when I’m at home but vaping is way more convenient in public
SyncroTDi@reddit
I have had my volcano vaporizer for close to ten years. Huge thumbs up!
Hungry-Mushroom-8324@reddit
Haven’t tried the vape yet. Still a hardcore zig zag man.
Individual-Writing25@reddit
zig zag woman... But have tried vapes always go back to the J's
cpacamper@reddit
Pax FTW
CrumblinEmpire@reddit
Yes, and it’s the best thing ever. I highly recommend Gen Xers switch to dry-herb vaping.
cheekiemunky13@reddit
Nope! Hemp rolls with tip my friend.
CatFrankie@reddit
No way!
bowtielowride@reddit
For me, and a couple buddies, the vape gets the job done but it feels like it's missing something.
autofill-name@reddit
Carbon monoxide / oxygen deprivation rush!
bowtielowride@reddit
Lol 😅
No, the high feels like its missing something that the flower provides. Not sure how to explain it.
totallyjaded@reddit
The list of vaporizers I have doesn't fit the flair box in r/vaporents.
Funny thing is, I never really liked weed as a teenager or young adult.
strugglinfool@reddit
52m, and I blame my 4 years older sister and her friends for starting me at 13. After HS, working in construction, I became a daily smoker. I've tried edibles and I've tried vapes, but smoking is the only buzz I feel and enjoy.
Saint909@reddit
My flower is none of your business…
skateboardnaked@reddit
After years and years of hope, I've watched weed go fully recreational in my state, thought I was finally good, then my work says they'll still fire us for thc on a drug test. 🙁
JoeyDawsonJenPacey@reddit
Even a medical card in a recreational state can’t push you through a pre-employment drug test for my particular type of admin manager job where I live. Even though without cannabis, I wouldn’t physically be able to hold down a full time job.
It’s asinine.
nadiaco@reddit
Depends on where you live, in my city they push through if you're a registered medical card holder. I had many background checks and drug test for this job and didn't even try to clean after daily use. No issue.
Got_Bent@reddit
My doc did me a solid and put me on Marinol, which does negate the THC part of a drug test. As long as you have doctors prescription, you should be golden. I passed 3 drug tests in Massachusetts this way before it became legal.
strugglinfool@reddit
That was a consequence of sched 1 federally and insurance companies. With the rescheduling, it's hopeful that at least the medical side will become a protected class.
Hell, the VA just approved their doctors to prescribe it.
Goldhound807@reddit
Yes. I use an Arizer 2 when I indulge. Smoking is way too hard on my now, and those vape cartridges are way too intense for me. I’d like to shift to edibles, but I don’t like the way effects seem to linger the next day.
Zealousideal_Cut5791@reddit
Mostly gummies with the occasional one hit of flower.
tubaLoons@reddit
Yes, I have a Mighty+ and a Ruby Twist ball vape. But I still spark one up when the mood strikes.
Not_High_Maintenance@reddit
I have a dry herb vape but I don’t like it as much as joints. I also like gummies but they are unpredictable.
4rt4tt4ck@reddit
edibles
Sir_UlrichVonL@reddit
Only gummies or drinks for me. I can’t stand the smell of the smoke or the vapes.
nadiaco@reddit
I thought the vaporiser made me cough more. Can't do the carts at all because makes me cough. Flower and edibles....
NeedleworkerLow1100@reddit
gummies are your friend...gummies are my friend
Waesrdtfyg0987@reddit
Yup. Have barely smoked over the last 2 decades gummies are perfect for me
BidPale3239@reddit
Joints…for now until I’m not able to
Fistofpaper@reddit
No occifer, I just say no to drugs.
GreatBoneStructure@reddit
I just say do to nugs.
Got_Bent@reddit
I say no to small nugs.
Got_Bent@reddit
I had to quit a month ago, but I smoked cannabis every which way but loose. I prefer a bong, but vape carts are good for traveling.
xBobaFattx@reddit
I want to get a good vape for flower, my buddy had an awesome volcano and it was so smooth. I'm a water bong guy at the moment, old habits never die and it's less harsh for me.
WishieWashie12@reddit
Im a water bong person too.. but im tempted by the electric dhv machines with water bubbler attachments.
example-of-disaster@reddit
51m, started at 19 with roughly about a year and a half not using (various drug tests switching jobs). Used to pretty much use a dugout and hitter for years, recently got a bong and have been really enjoying it. Got a portable piece for nature time but pretty much hit the bong daily. Also just picked up a dab bucket and some concentrates… 🚀 to the 🌖
Top-Ad3147@reddit
I'm often using a Pax vape for hash mostly, but too flowers if I can get them (it's not legal where I live) I'm then saving what's left over in the vape chamber after getting high and making my own gummies and chocolate from that. Getting high twice on the same stuff! I think edible is much more discreet at my age and probably healthier too from the research I've done. Need to be thinking longer term these days x
RetroBerner@reddit
Nah, I like dabbing, but I just prefer smoke over vapor.
Dry-Character-6331@reddit
Well I DO have pulmonary issues. They are unrelated to smoking but mean I can't smoke or vape without risking further damage. I just do gummies/edibles every now and then
sharingiscaring319@reddit
I never smoked anything until last August 2025 when I was 56. I started vaping cannabis. I LOVE THIS! Why THE Actual FUCK did I not start doing this in high school?!?? Anyway, I don’t like actual smoking. The feel of paper and such on my lips is ew.
DankRoughly@reddit
Mostly dry herb vape. I don't want the health risks of inhaling smoke.
I figure this is significantly healthier
Infinite-Lychee-182@reddit
I switched to DHV in 2017
Dogzillas_Mom@reddit
Nobody knows what DHV means.
Infinite-Lychee-182@reddit
Dry herb vaping
BigRudy99@reddit
Yes. Harder on the throat, but waaaaay easier on the lungs. I was to the point where it was 50/50 whether or not I was going to have a full blown mucus flinging asthma attack every time I smoked. Now I just get a hacky throat cough or two. POTV Lobo here.
Dogzillas_Mom@reddit
Yes I’m vaping but every now and then I break out a little flower because I just don’t think the vapes do as much for me.
GwonWitcha@reddit
Carts/Dabs. Only one…sometimes two hits to get the same effect as smoking a whole-ass doobie.
BobsMustache@reddit
I know I have a volcano somewhere in the house but haven’t had it out in awhile. I still dig the old water pipe and a giant rip. But I don’t care for the cleaning and what not. You are definitely correct in the taste of the vape rather than the burning of the herb.
Hefty_Debt_638@reddit
I’m a sucker for a nice bong rip but it’s getting harder 😮💨
chowderhound_77@reddit
I switched to a DHV about a year ago and i never looked back
maddog2271@reddit
Not much of a stoner anymore I am afraid, but I am fully on edibles now. Haven’t smoked maybe more than once a year in a long time. But man a good gummy….oh yeah.
misschris826@reddit
I need this in my life.
