9070 XT 16 GB, is it good?

Beginner here. I'm having a hard time picking the graphics card.
I see ppl say 9070 XT 16 GB is nearly the same as Nvidia 5070 Ti, just overlooked bc it's not NVIDIA. Moreover 9070 is more than half the price of 5070 where I am.
I want to use it to play Where Winds Meet on Ultra setting.
I did notice the reviews I see were only two months from the release date. I'm hoping to get some review from users who've used for a year now. Is 9070 really as good as I've heard? I want a durable one. I'll be using it for the foreseeable 7 yrs or until whatever other parts of the PC breaks down (which happened to my current 7 yrs old PC ðŸ˜)

9070 XT and 5070 Ti trade blows in performance, so the 9070 XT is a better value since it’s cheaper.
Although FSR has closed the gap with DLSS in upscaling, DLSS is still superior but how superior is up to each individual to see that.
I personally prefer Nvidia and I have the 5070 Ti. I also prefer Nvidia for its better codecs as I do recording.
If you’re not bothered about the difference in upscaling and if you’re not going to be streaming or recording, get the 9070 XT.

Omg thanks for the feedback! I do record the main story and some memorable quests/event when I play so hmmmmm
Hiphopapocalyptic@reddit
I've been doing just that with Radeon. I've added a bind for Start/Stop Recording to my Break key
FatalGamer1@reddit
You can still record with the 9070 XT.
Kagemand@reddit
You can do that on either card.

The RX 9070 non XT 16GB is better than the RTX 5070 12GB. The RX 9070 XT 16GB is comparable to the RTX 5070 Ti 16GB. So if you just wanna play games, get the RX 9070 non XT 16GB/RX 9070 XT 16GB.

Get the Asrock Steel Legend 9070xt. It has the dual 8 pin connectors, so you’re not at risk of the connector melting. You won’t regret it. I’ve been rocking this for several months now and I get great performance. FSR 4 is also quite impressive and will give you an extra boost. Whenever you get into undervolting and want to reduce temps and extend the life of your card, DM me and I’ll tell you what settings I use. The stock temps are a bit high and I’ve been able to reduce the core and hotspot temps to 60° and 80° respectively when the card runs at full tilt and I still get 90 FPS in Cyberpunk in 4K.
howman-man@reddit
i have an xfx merc oc and it has 3 8 pin connectors, so that's another safe bet
reillyj99@reddit
Mind just editing and letting us know your undervolt settings here? I have an asrock steel legends 9070xt and have been looking for others experience with over/underclocking the card.
Tr4shVViz4rd@reddit
These were my settings in Adrenaline when I was running windows. I’m using LACT through Bazzite now and I get the same temps with the same settings. Although adrenaline gives you more options, most of the settings like VRAM frequencies don’t need to be touched, unless you’re just a tinkerer.
The main things that are going to make the difference is your voltage offset and your power limit.
Voltage offset -90mv
Power Limit -8
I started at -10 with the power limit and using Cyberpunk at 4K High settings as my benchmark, but I got random crashes. Once I bumped it up a couple ticks, it’s been solid.
Just another tip and personal preference, but sometimes limiting your frame rate is another great way to reduce temps. Personally I don’t see a problem playing a single player game like RE9 (literally just beat it before typing this) running at 60fps locked. My GPU was running at 55° and lower depending on the environment in game.

Thank you!!

Saving this post for when I get a 9070XT.

Think you can DM me anyways? I'll be heading down to the physical stores tmr to buy~~

I hope your willing to extend this olive branch of knowledge in a couple months time please haha :)
Ren654@reddit (OP)
Thanks. I'll go research RX 9070 non XT now!

9070 xt is a great card.

Yes
Hugh_Jego_69@reddit
Yeah I got 9070xt. Plays everything at 4K with solid frames. Very happy within the purchase overall
Milthel@reddit
If you do not care about ray tracing and path tracing then it's an amazing value card although fsr is not good and supported as much as dlss it's improved so much since fsr 3.
nesnalica@reddit
its not bad if thats what youre concerned about.
you buy the GPU for the performance goal. the 9060XT is amazing value for 1080p or 1440p 60fps.
Guilty-Pace-6743@reddit
I have had the non-xt for close to 6 months with 0 complaints. I play at 1440p and hit mostly around 100 fps. I’m sure I could do better but I don’t mind-max my settings as much as I probably could.
Notable games:
Baldurs Gate 3
Cyberpunk
Hunter call of the wild (likely more cpu)
Helldivers 2
That being said, I’m mostly just gaming in dad time so not all the latest stuff. Also, turning FPS counter off has been the best thing to return to enjoying games.
Let me know if you have questions mate.
Large-Teach9165@reddit
It all depends on the pricing.
If all you do is gaming, and don't care about frame gen, the 9070 XT will let you play every game you want at 60FPS stable even at 4k with Ray Tracing and FSR enabled.
If you do care about Frame Gen and Path Tracing doesn't run as smooth as you want in the FSR configurations you want or at the resolutions you play, the 5070 Ti should be better, but in most place it is at least 500 dollars more expensive, and it isn't that better.
As some have pointed out, the 9070 non XT is also a great choice, but in most countries like mine, the price difference between it and the XT version is 50-100 dollars, and I honestly think the more pricey, XT version is better at that price range.
Ren654@reddit (OP)
Thank you! This really helps!
Few-Gift-2348@reddit
yea + on that, the 9070 pricing in most countries make no sense at all, here its almost the same price as the 9070 xt. So depends where you live, if you should even consider the 9070 non xt
mendezlife84@reddit
I have a 9070XT 16GB but only game at 1440p, I’m able to play everything at max settings and usually at over 120 fps. Granted I haven’t played the game you mentioned but I can run Black Myth Wukong at cinematic and a high frame rate. I hope this helps?
Ren654@reddit (OP)
Yes this helps!!! Thank you!! Black Myrh Wukong is actually on my list too. Knowing it runs well there rest my worries
mendezlife84@reddit
The only game where I had a couple of bugs with was Arc Raiders. Otherwise I haven’t had any bugs really with any games. I play games like Black Myth Wu Kong, the resident evil games, Final Fantasy remake and games like that.
Desperate-Box-8527@reddit
if you dont do video editing or rendering, stick to the 9070xt. i bought one and ive been running ultra settings on all my games on 1440p. for sure it will still do fine in 4k reso.
JohnnyStrides@reddit
I do video editing (and rendering duh) and honestly the gap between AMD and NVIDIA has closed dramatically. AMD's media engines and encoding have improved dramatically and software like Davinci Resolve is now so well optimized for AMD you'd be hard pressed to find a scenario where a 5070 is the clear winner That's an old narrative that needs to die IMO. CUDA support was once a no-brainer but I'd argue for most it's barely worth shelling out more for. Obviously there's edge cases and if the primary use case was video editing I'd still look at NVIDIA first, but I wouldn't rule out AMD or avoid it altogether. There's lots of pros editing and streaming on AMD cards these days.
sheky@reddit
I thought the same. The jump to 4k is quite large - I can do 1440max no problem but 4k can't be native
MarionberryNo5515@reddit
I love my 9070 XT. I ran some benchmarks on it against my 4080 S (and the 4080 S was paired with a 9800x3D while the 9070 XT had a 5600x) performance was basically identical between the two across both raytraced and rasterized performance.
SavedMartha@reddit
It's excellent
MichealShelton@reddit
It's a great choice

CPU: AMD RYZEN 7 7700 Motherboard: ASROCK B850M-X WIFI PSU: Thermalright KG 850W 80+ Gold Modular ATX3.1+Gen5.
Johann_Von_Graff@reddit
Yeah that's fine for both 9070 cards. I'd even say you'd be perfectly balanced with the non-XT model and save money, unless you really, really want to get XT
Ren654@reddit (OP)
Thanks for the feedback! Good to know the others fits well
