Friggin loved this game as a kid!
freedraw@reddit
FYI, if you love the original and want to revisit it, Avalon Hill did a remake a few years ago. All the rules and quests are the same, just has new minis. The furniture is fully sculpted rather than partly cardboard as well. They’ve also redone all the impossible to find expansions and even created a couple new ones (Jungles of Dethrak and Rise of the Dread Moon).

My nostalgia for this game is so high.
I almost bought it when they rereleased it a few years ago..but then I remembered I don't have friends to play it with any more.
Drakotxu@reddit
I'm still playing this game with the boys when I come to visit my city.
SpenceAlmighty@reddit
My Mum bought this and Space Quest for me and my brother - Played for hours, honestly shocked I never became a warhammer person
KerissaKenro@reddit
Your pieces are in really great shape
deformedexile@reddit
I had this and some AD&D trading cards when I was young and my friends and I tried to reverse engineer D&D to play with the pieces.
We decided THAC0 was currency. (I was like 9 leave me alone.)
BritOnTheRocks@reddit
I somehow ended up with this game instead:
I would pore over the manual and I loved setting up the modular dungeon tiles, but I’m not sure I actually every played it. But it led me to my real love...
BritOnTheRocks@reddit
I adored this game!
Vec-tor@reddit
Where i live and plenty of others, Blood Bowl still has a really active player base! My absolute fave mini game ever.
christine_says@reddit
My ex hosted a blood bowl league every winter with a draft and everything! My Amazon team was pretty decent and my QB raked! Fun times!
Verbull710@reddit
Won a six player Scythe a while back, great times. W the metal mechs 🤘

I finally got this game in my 40s after wanting it since I was 5. It's so much fun!!

In case you want to know the best thing about Heroquest
-Disagreeable-@reddit
This is in my internet hall of fame of the best videos. It’s incredible.
rob132@reddit
Yeah it's been a year or two. I might as well watch it again.
" But what about people with back, neck, and face issues huh?
nine_cans@reddit
I came here to post this but I’m not even mad you beat me to it.

I took the kids to a local video rental place that's still open and let them pick out some stuff.

I got this game at a time when I was in a new school and was having a tough time making friends. I was recently reminded of it when my girlfriend and I were visiting my mother and she had us going through my old stuff in the basement.
I found it and set it aside. My girlfriend was curious about it and started to go through the box. I told her I never played it but really wanted to. I didn’t elaborate.
She showed me character sheets I made. Then I remembered I tried playing it solo. 🥺
herb2018@reddit
wow forgot about that
ReggaeForPresident@reddit
I’d rather play the Cones of Dunshire
gridlock1024@reddit
My brothers and I played this game all the time
BlankPaperTiger@reddit
That game was my gateway to D&D and I will always be thankful for it.
BaronGalactic@reddit
I got this game when I was 9 or 10 maybe. I'm now 42, and have become a big Warhammer 40k fan. Imagine my surprise when I recently discovered that this game is actually based on Warhammer Fantasy, and that the "Chaos Sorcerer" in the game that I was so familiar with is actually that kind of Chaos Sorcerer.
Available-Crow-3442@reddit
I was looking at these molds and said to myself: “hmmmmm…that’s a Warhammer Ork and a Chaos Sorcerer. I wonder who licensed it”.
And I was vindicated!
chronicnerv@reddit
I loved this game.
progthrowe7@reddit
I forced my poor older sisters to play this with me as a kid, but it sparked my love of TTRPGs that continues to this day.
myka-likes-it@reddit
This lived at my grandparents house so my brother and I would have something to do when we visited.
It was a good reason to want to go visit grandma.
rust-e-apples1@reddit
I brought this back to my kids after a trip to my parents' house a few years ago. They love it.
Specialist-Leek8645@reddit
Deep memory. Forgot I used to have this and I loved it so much.
Slim_Margins1999@reddit
Loved this game! Played the whole original with my older brother, our neighbor who was my brother’s good friend and my old man. I think we managed 1 expansion pack too while they were home from college one summer, but then I never played again. Never found a group my age to pjj lol at with. Lol
Express-Cow190@reddit
My friend has that game. I’ve not got to play it but he uses the figures for a D&D campaign he’d been running for everyone at my house.
BaronGalactic@reddit
I was huge into stuff like this when I was a kid, so of course I got this game!
...I am also an only child, so despite my dad attempting to play it with me a few times, I never had anyone to play it with so it mostly just sat on the shelf.
It's still on my shelf now, however!
jaxsonMiss@reddit
I only remember playing a game that looks similar to this called Talisman.
B-SideToho@reddit
Ha, i was just talking about this game to a friend last night! I've had this since it came out and even painted the minis when i was a kid.
Have fun playing with your buds:)
Rahawk02@reddit
I never played D and D other than single player video games. I saw a local bar has a D and D night and I was thinking of checking it out just to get out of the house.
PIG20@reddit
Had this when I was younger. Had no idea how to play it correctly so I just played with the figures and had my own imaginary battles.
ProfessorOfLies@reddit
I still have my original set. Then I got an intact original set online to get my kids playing it. THEN I backed Hasbro's revival of it. I loved the pick and play nature if it and the dynamic game board. I do wish the rules worked better. No real character growth, and movement was clunky outside of combat
bargman@reddit
Begged my mom for Hero Quest but could never get anyone to play it with me. Think maybe ... maybe ... I played it twice.
kbudz32@reddit
Fun game. The same company’s Battelmasters was great too.
TragicsNFG@reddit
I loved that game. Still missed that one of my former friends stole it and all the expansions.
Schtick_@reddit
This game was awesome
captain_flak@reddit
I didn’t even remember I had this game until right now. I tried to get my friends to play, but they weren’t into it.
the_kid1234@reddit
I loved this game so much as a kid. I wanted to get the reboot for my kids first Christmas but I don’t think they’d like it as much as I did.
By the way, you shouldn’t visit the r/Heroquest sub and get inspired to paint all those minis…
PlagueDrWily@reddit
Loved this game but it was a rare treat to get 4 other friends to sit long enough for a game.
Dramatic_Stain@reddit
Are we playing space hulk next weekend?
Vec-tor@reddit
Gateway drugs are bad.. this one specifically led to me spending so much money on plastic crack on so many game systems over the years!
Played the re-release not so long back and it was still great fun.
Mischievous_Redja@reddit (OP)
Plastic crack, love it, I'm saving that for later.
pony_is_my_name@reddit
Loved this growing up
