Why does my rifle shoot farther than my pistol?

The remote control integrated in your rearview mirror is able to have a more powerful transmitter/antenna because it's connected to the 12v car battery and it's larger, while your remote control has a 3v battery and the transmitter has to fit inside a key fob.
