His hands... were moving faster than I could see, trying to stay ahead of each breakdown. He refused to give up. He was remarkable.

This part always gets me emotional. The admiral throughout the entire episode ironically, had less emotion than data. But when he describes how data was trying to save Lals life everything he thought he believed went out the window.

The terrible acting from 'Lal' (worsted name ever) puts me off that episode

This is the episode I used to get my girlfriend at the time to start watching Star Trek with me.

There's a music video generated purely by AI called Tin Man by WickedAI. Aside from it being an excellent song and music video, there a really good scene in the second verse where Data creates Lal and she dies. Very powerful.

PS. Not a Rick Roll

Thank you for that. I never knew I needed Star Trek grunge metal lol

The actor did an excellent job, I'm always impressed.

I can’t watch that episode anymore. It’s too much.

That scene always brings a tear (or more).

Would it have been too much to let Lal survive? Too bad we didn't have the chance to explore Riker and Lal's relationship.

This episode and the Voyager one where the doctor’s daughter dies wrecks me everytime

I think that was the moment Haftel realised that Data genuinely loved Lal in his own way, even if Data would have claimed he wasn't capable of that emotion.

Definitely a favorite scene of mine, too!
