Amy? Megan? Josh? Justin?
I just went back through my year books... Damn every other person.
My older sister's era was Jessica, Eric, Sarah, Daniel.
Who are you?

Worked at Blockbuster when this guy got popular, MONTHS of Jeff fafa
9fingerjeff@reddit
I got so tired of hearing that..
GingerLawyerGirl@reddit
I'm a Kristen. There were a ton of us. I blame the show Dallas. Made the name insanely popular in the early '80s.
sitnquiet@reddit
Yep. I was a Christopher. Between the Chrisses, Christians, Christines, Kristens, Crystals and all the rest, we were half the class.
frawgster@reddit
I knew a “Chris” in college. I called him Christopher once and he scolded me. He said his parents named him “Chris”. The one time I met his mom I asked her and she confirmed he was “Chris” on his birth certificate. I thought that was kinda not unique but unique, if that makes sense.
GristleMcThornbody1@reddit
I met a guy named Jimmy one time. Always figured it was James, but nope, it was Jimmy.
Daphne-odora@reddit
We had 2 Christy’s in my grade and a Kristy
cashews_clay15@reddit
My sister was Christie.
My son asked if it was short for anything, like Christina. Nope, just Christie.
SimpleVegetable5715@reddit
Plus Kristen and Christina spelled every way you can imagine.
frawgster@reddit
I was like 20 when I first met a Kristen. I was like 10 when I first met a KIRsten (Keer-sten). So for all my teenage years I thought Kirsten was Kristen. Basically I didn’t fully realize that Kristen was a name because any time I heard someone say Kristen I assumed they were saying Kirsten wrong.
🤷♂️
Insomniac_80@reddit
Daniel, Matthew, Michael, and Jonathan all were known by their last initial. For girls it was Jennifer, Allison and Lauren
FiveCrappedPee@reddit
I'm Brian and I feel like my name has just been baseline average, which is great with me. We stay low key.
barrymulvihill@reddit
Im Bryan with a y
Big_Somewhere9230@reddit
I’m a Jeff. I knew two other Jeffs in middle school. The math teacher sat us all at the same table and we got to answer as a committee.

Why do I love this so much 😂
SplakyD@reddit
Are there any Davids anymore?
Sofagirrl79@reddit
My dad, brother,ex husband and a ex boyfriend are all named David
bangobot46@reddit
Any time someone tells me their name is Sara without an h, I know they are an xennial. While Sarah with an h could be anytime, Sara no h is almost always 79-83.
sator-2D-rotas@reddit
My mother was a huge Dallas fan. Huge. She wanted to name me so I’d have the initials JR. And my father’s name starts with an R. Thankfully he said no. Big NO.
shortycall911@reddit
1983 - Laura/Lauren and Ryan/Brian. Never had a class K-12 without at least one

I play a sport where age protected divisions start at 40. Last year there was a tournament where in the 40-50 women's division 6/8 were named some variation of Jennifer.
cashews_clay15@reddit
No one else had my name but I was named after a song from the 70’s.
After_Preference_885@reddit
Same but mine was inspired by and not exactly from a song
ButterscotchAware402@reddit
Justine. I've only met 2 other Justines. So many Justins though. If I were a boy, I'd have been Matthew.
Just throwing this in for good measure...

Ashley
Debtastical@reddit
It’s my middle name. My mom named her after her best friend. Deborah… that’s right- everyone’s moms name. In a graduating class of 450 people, I was the only Deborah. “My mom’s name is Debbie”. Cool.
Which_Celebration757@reddit
My Aunt Debbie was the coolest one in the family.
crapbear83@reddit (OP)
We need to have a discussion about you mental health. You good?
Ashleys end up being the "crazy girls" in my experience
sator-2D-rotas@reddit
From the baby name I found, this was an option if I was a girl per my mom.
-SandorClegane-@reddit
That's my sister, born in....eighty fuckin three, wouldn't you know.
trichotomy00@reddit
Ashley K, Ashley M, or Ashley from band?
Okra-Tomatoes@reddit
We had Ashleys in every class.
FortunateSon77@reddit
Stefan (steh-FAN). You'd think I was the only one anywhere ever.
There were a lot of Dale, Sean, and Chris, of course. Only ever saw 1 Tanis or Brynn. Haven't heard em since.
Queen_Of_InnisLear@reddit
It's one of the things I thank my parents for- they gave an uncommon (but normal) name. I was always the only one in the entire school, in every school I was in, including university. I have met 2 in person and they were both older than me.
But my classes were full of Rob, Megan, Dan, Jon/John, Jessica. We had three Mirandas in my grade which seems like an anomaly.
moving2mars@reddit
This is what we did with our kids, uncommon but normal (and spelled right) names, coming from two very 80s named parents. I think they’ve each met \~2 peers with their names their whole lives.
JellyfishHead2831@reddit
Jennifer, Ashley, Amanda, Crystal, Lindsey, Samantha
Chris, Matt, Josh, Ryan, Cody, Brian, Jeff, Mark
Sofagirrl79@reddit
My name is Sabrina, only knew a few in my school years then it got sorta popular in the late 90s cause of that show.My parents could have done worse when they picked my name
Fiveminutes26@reddit
I’m a Lesley. Mom named me after Lesley Ann Warren (take a guess at my middle name!) I very rarely, even now find another Lesley and if I do, it’s always Leslie and my co-workers always spell my name wrong, even though it’s in my email and my email signature lol
jsaye01@reddit

Mike. I was once driving a car full of dudes and the other four were named Mike. Resulted in everyone requiring a fun nickname.

Emily. The number one girls name for many years.
PengwinPears@reddit
I work at a school and there's like 5 Emilys on staff at any given time. One will leave and a new one replaces her.
waspclothes@reddit
I'm always amazed at how few Emilys I run into or that I wasn't Emily "middle initial" in school.
someoneelse0826@reddit
Are you ‘82?
AccountantChoice1254@reddit

katie_cat_eyes@reddit
Yep…! In my small graduating class, there was only one Jessica, two Jens, but three Katies. A few other miscellaneous Catherines or Kaitlins that went by other nicknames.
Jupitersd2017@reddit
That’s wild, I didn’t know a single Katie growing up
flojopickles@reddit
My brother dated 3 different Katie’s and married one of them.
Switchback4@reddit
Nice try cop.
VVrayth@reddit
Our childhoods were a sea of Jennifers and Jessicas.
SimpleVegetable5715@reddit
The J-e-double consonant names 😂 I know Jessicas who were always mistakenly called Jennifer and Jennifers called Jessica. Every now and then there was a Jackie to mix things up.
TalkSin_M@reddit
Ones I'm not seeing mentioned so much are Amber, Rachel, Sara, Dave, Elijah, Luke.
Phoenyxoldgoat@reddit
Fall of 1983. My name is Caryn. The internet’s favorite insult, with a youneek spelling, and I was born in a sea of Jessicas, Heathers, and Melissas. All my friends’ moms were named Karen.
I’m still salty about all this.
JollyJeanGiant83@reddit
Katie
saltnshadow@reddit
My name is Amy, but to be fair, my mom wanted ro name me Amelia, but shortened it to Amy because my dad couldn't spell it. Joke's on me, though - they divorced and he became non-existant in my life when I was 4.
Might go get my name changed back to the original idea.

Responsible_Park3317@reddit
SO MANY JASONS! Like holy shit. 🤣
26isfordicks@reddit
Kelly, Stephanie, Nicole, Tiffany, Sarah, Amanda & Kristen too — I feel like every one in my elementary school was named only ten names (I have a “weird” name and I was always jealous lmao)

allysung83@reddit
Sarah, Michelle, Jessica, Jennifer, Stephanie, Ashley, Amanda, Erin, Jason, Matt, Brian, Joe/Joey, Josh, Jesse, Mike

1981 and my class was FULL of Jennifers and Stephanies, there weren’t any boy names that were as prevalent/popular as those two
SimpleVegetable5715@reddit

Redwingstarfish@reddit
I worked at Starbucks whilst at uni. Jessica's and Courtney's are endless! Not to be rude, but a lot of parents aren't original.
Redwingstarfish@reddit
To top off on my previous comment, I'm thankful my parents named my seven siblings and myself obscure names. :)
