Mixing RAM speeds

I received a kit of 16G (2x8) 3200 RAM for Christmas. My rig currently has 16G (2x8) 3600 RAM. The setup supports 3600 speeds. The only difference is the speed. The part numbers are identical aside from the part that indicates the speed. What are the ramifications (no pun intended) of mixing speeds? Returning the RAM for the 3600 speed would be a hassle as it was purchased from a nonlocal retailer. I COULD try to exchange it at Microcenter, but that's a bit shady.

Your ram will run at the speed of the lowest stick

That's what I remembered, but would I even notice the difference?

So? Did you notice?
