Is the Ponto Go S pretty much the best choice?

Seems like the most flexible for life in general. Multiple seats, relaxed position, major manufacturer with long term support

I would also have a look at the Haul ST before you decide

no, the most flexible go-anywhere option would be a gravelbike with a rack or a hardtail mtb with a rack.
that ponto lacks an adjustable seat and has a seat that's removed far tp the back in relation to the pedals. That will always suck for any pedaling.
and with the bench seat you lack the option to easily mount a rack.
and then you also have fat tyres for useless extra weight and bad obstacle clearance.
if you want to stick with trek, look at marlin+ or checkpoint+

Looks good but I'd get a moped style

From everything I’ve seen, the Ponto Go S seems hard to beat for utility + comfort. Really solid option unless you need something super specific.

I love mine

How long have you had it? How far does it go? And what would love/change about it?

Had it about 3 months. I only use it in pedal assist 1, so it goes 50-60 miles (I never ride more than 10 miles a day, so it’s a guess based on how often I have to charge).
As for negatives the pedaling position isn’t great. I’m tall and even with the seat height extender it’s still not ideal, but the seat is more comfortable than a regular bike seat since I’m also quite heavy (6’3”, 300lbs. Down 20 lbs since I bought it)

Best really depends on what you want to do with it. Don't know how much storage you could get on it, and actually using the pedals seems less than convenient
