Car cut me off, caused damage and didn’t stop. What should I do?

A car cut me off at a red light as it turned green, trying to merge in front of me. I saw my truck scratched their vehicle above the rear wheel on the driver side. I sat for about two seconds and the driver in front of me just drove away. I got their license plate number, that’s it. When I got home, the damage was very minimal on my truck that I don’t care to do anything about it. A small scratch. They hit me and it appeared they had more damage but they drove off. What is the best thing to do? I’m fully insured but don’t care to file a claim or report because the damage to my vehicle is so small.

People said it...dashcam. Otherwise it's "he said, she said".

Get a dash camera for sure!

Time to invest in a Dashcam

I’ve ran into the back of 2 people and both of them drove off. I’d just move on and bring it up as a small talk occasionally

Do nothing.
Carry on.

That’s what I was thinking. Thanks.

I would move on unless you hear otherwise.

I'd file a police report saying exactly what happened. Covers you in case someone tries to say that you drove away after hitting them.

filing a police report can cause the car go get a reported accident on carfax. I had a similar thing happen where someone hit my car and drove off and i filed a police report and didnt really think anything of it until years later when i went to sell the car the carfax had a reported accident

Just move on? Not really sure what you’re asking.
Are you finding permission to sue their American ass off?

No need to be smart. Never been in this position before. Just want to make sure nothing can come back on me since I didn’t cause the incident.
