Went to an estate sale in Highland Park today and found it was this guy’s. It’s pretty upsetting.

Where do you park for the sale?
Purple_Star813@reddit (OP)
Street parking alongside the neighboring houses. It was really full though.

The independent article really paints a picture of a dysfunctional marriage. Bro was a megamillionaire, but no happiness.

Yep. I know people who are incredibly wealthy and have family problems of their own. A billionare’s daughter recently took their own life and left behind a several hundred page note. I know people who are the kids of very wealthy people, and they struggle severely with mental health issues.
Being wealthy and in a “bubble” can have very strange effects and make it hard to fit in with people.

Hildenbrand?

Yup. It’s a crazy sad story

That relationship sounds exhausting

Yeah, feel really bad for the guy. They also have a family Instagram account that’s public and everyone looks so happy, but no one really knows the behind the scenes

damn that's wild you just stumbled into that at estate sale - must have been weird vibe there once people started connecting the dots
Purple_Star813@reddit (OP)
Oh yeah, absolutely
fadedblackleggings@reddit
Do you have the estate sale listing?
ManufacturerNo1478@reddit
I need to go to more estate sales.

Haven't heard of this case yet thanks for . Posting . The amount of spousal murders in the past year seems to have skyrocketed.

As my friend’s wife said: There’s “her” stuff, there’s “their” stuff, and there’s stuff for the estate sale.

One of the founders of Fortress, Wes Edens was recently blackmailed. Was all over the news.

Find anything good at the sale?
Purple_Star813@reddit (OP)
It was expensive, out of my tax bracket 🙈 But they have a great selection of books!

I went there too, and I was wondering why they had an estate sale when it was just listed for sale in December 2025 and sold earlier this year
I figured it was all the old stuff they had (or the previous owner) and wanted to start 100% fresh
