How can I purchase armor piercing rifle ammo legally? (if its possible)

I'm looking for some to horde but the restrictions on purchasing AP rounds are unclear and shit and make no sense to me. I live in Kentucky so general firearm laws are a little less strict, it would be nice if someone could dumb down the laws on them for me.

You can find them at gun shows.

Great, I've been looking into going to one. I'll be on the lookout for some

Just find it online, you'll way over spend at a gun show.

Ahh, but at a gun show, they can't track your ammo purchase, because you're using The Loophole.
OP, what's your debit card's PIN number? We need to clear it in advance, so it doesn't get hoovered.

Probably why they call fmj "ball" ammo

My understanding is that the AP restrictions only apply to handgun ammo

That's what I thought, they make it seem like ap rifle rounds are legal to own but not legal to manufacture, sell or purchase. Apparently ap 5.56 is "illegal" because it can be used in an AR pistol but at the same time it seems legal. My understanding is off I'm assuming. I cant find any ap rounds online either

Anywhere, where are you seeing restrictions on armor piercing rifle ammo.
The tricky part is keeping the government from declaring types of rifle ammo to be pistol ammo just because someone chambers a pistol in the caliber.

That’s what I’m seeing too. Every restriction I’m seeing is for pistol AP ammo.
