So disappointed

So I was getting my Capri 14.2 ready for the season. Got new lines on. Cleaned her up. And fixed my broken trailer light. I went out to Lake Bonham yesterday to check it out. Jeez. For this time of year for the water to still be that low is nuts. you'd think we'd already been through the dog days of summer. I'd say it's a good 3 feet below normal. The level is a foot below the dock ladders. And a good portion of the launch ramp is dry. I wouldn't even be able to drop my swing keel until I was well out onto the lake. I mean, sure it's small, but I'd be limited to how much I could do because I am sure I'd hit every sand bar in the lake. My only option for now is to go out on the new Bois D'arc lake. I've been on it a bunch of times, But you can still see the trees on the north side. At least it's still big enough to get a good run. Looks like its time to check out Lake Texoma this year.

Just wait till you get one of them new fangled ~~spying~~ data centers, that no one wants... Those damn things arent gonna cool themselves...
stblack@reddit
Data centers use closed-loop water cooling. The water they use is continuously recirculated. Like the coolant in your car, same principle.
nikoelnutto@reddit
The comparison is flawed. A car is cooled by air-flow across the radiator, while driving.
Data centers will take in cold water from reservoirs and expel steam like a nuclear plant.
Some estimates promise so-called "closed loop systems" ( like a car) could account for "up to 10%" of cooling capacity for a large data center.
It's a horrible situation. Please dont be the Devil's advocate.

"Large data centers can consume up to 5 million gallons per day, equivalent to the water use of a town populated by 10,000 to 50,000 people."

It could be worse! The lake near me (also TX) is at only 10% capacity. The boat ramp is hundreds of feet from the shore.

Lol come to Michigan. Our lakes are still a couple of feet above normal from the torrential rains we had earlier.
DetroiterInTX@reddit
Are you sure about that (being too cold)? Several friends who have been getting out tuning up on Lake St Clair for a week or 2 now b
Available_Bowler2316@reddit
Yeah I'm up in the snow belt (just south of the Bridge). It's finally quite dropping below freezing at night last week.
Also I'm a wuss when it comes to cold water. Got enough of that as a whitewater rafting guide. Now I want my water to be warm.

Got me there. Even in July it gets cold on the lakes up there. But absolutely beautiful there!
Available_Bowler2316@reddit
Yeah. I'm looking to move downstate. A few acres on a lake somewhere down there. :)

And it's only gonna get worse over the years. Might be time for a catamaran!

swing keels and low spots go together well. its a lot easier to lift the keel than the whole boat! /s if needed.
