Is upgrading my RTX 4060 to AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT (16 GB) worth it?

I have an RTX 4060 with 8 GB of VRAM. In terms of RAM, I have 32 GB of DDR4. I have an AMD Ryzen 7 5700x CPU. I would just like to upgrade my graphics card. I have a lot of trouble with games complaining about needing more VRAM. I came across the AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT (16 GB). It has a solid 16 GB of VRAM. It would be an amazing upgrade.
What are you thoughts on this?

maybe instead do a 9060 xt 16gb. It has all of the new FSR feathtures

Does it perform better? I've seen that it's a bit cheaper. That's a positive thing. Even if I just don't suffer from VRAM shortages anymore, I'll be happy.

7800xt is better by around 18% in raster performance, but 9060xt is better at everything else.

So you're saying I should go for Series 9?
MagicPistol@reddit
It depends on price. If you can get the 7800 XT for closer to 300, then go for it. If it's close to 400, then might as well go for 9060 XT which will have warranty and has more features.
Fsr4.1 is coming to the 7000 series soon though, so the feature gap might be shortened.

9060 xt will have better RT tho
Dohp13@reddit
Id go for the 9060 xt if they are similarly priced, but I'd go for the 7800xt if it's cheaper.

7800xt will run circles around 8gb 4060. 9060xt runs circles around 8gb 4060. Which ever is better priced.
HappyAffirmative@reddit
The 7000 series cards are getting the new FSR features in a month or so
TopExplanation138@reddit
It'll still have the newer, faster RT though.
Accomplished_Emu_658@reddit
So will 7 series.
Lucifer89n@reddit
The 7800 xt is a 1440p powerhouse. I undervolt mine because its just too much. Paired with a Ryzen 7 5700g and 32gb ddr4
Dwarf-Eater@reddit
How much is the 7800xt? I had a 6600xt and sold it and bought a used 7800xt for $400. I could of bought a 9060xt 16gb for about the same new at the time and passed it up. I'm really happy with the 7800xt, super powerful card, can handle a decent amount of 4k 60hz on my big living room TV without upscaling! You won't be disappointed and that 4060 is still worth about $200!
_lefthook@reddit
Just get the 9070xt and you're golden for years
Specific-Animal6570@reddit (OP)
Well, the price hurts. How much is my RTX 4060 worth then? I'd like to get the best price for it.
KajMak64Bit@reddit
Why not get RX 9060 XT 16gb
Or better yet RX 9070 non XT... it's almost identical to the 9070 XT especially if you undervolt it
And because it's not the peak of this generation it's probably not sold as much meaning the price of it is likely to be a lot cheaper than the XT
forevertired1982@reddit
Usually the price difference is $50-$100 so for that price going for the 70xt over the 70 non xt,
Its 13%+ performance for less than 10% price difference so if you have the extra its not a bad upsell.
bellynipples@reddit
Can sell your 4060 for about $230 depending on the model and its condition.
Specific-Animal6570@reddit (OP)
It's an INNO3D GeForce RTX 4060 Twin X2.
