Stunning. And who cares about the interior, people buying this car want the ipad experience.
This is exactly what Cadillac should have made instead of that revolting Celestiq.

The rear seats don’t look like they’re easy to get into or out of.
strongmanass@reddit
It's more important that they look good. They're not really meant to be accessed frequently. They'll be used for the grandchildren or to drop off a friend across town. But mostly they'll hold bags and coats.

If the current 8 series looked like this it would've set sales records.
strongmanass@reddit
The 8 series' problem wasn't design. No matter what it looked like it would've sold poorly - see LC500. The problem with the 8 series and LC500 and AMG GT/SL is the badges on the cars are too pedestrian. That's just where those brands' appeal tops out (with a couple of exceptions for Mercedes). That's why this concept is under the Alpina brand. It's also why Toyota is breaking out GR into a separate brand. And why Genesis is desperate to distance itself from Hyundai.

How that steering wheel made it past any concept phase is well beyond me. Feels like something that's going to be revised within 1 or 2 model years of the new 3/iX3/7 series being out after tons of complaints.
strongmanass@reddit
I like the steering wheel. It's the screens that put me off.

People said that Celestiq would flop because of large screen, but it didn't stop every automaker trying to push their cars with screen.
Medical-Gate-9978@reddit
No people said the Celestiq would flop because it’s priced like a Rolls-Royce while looking like a $70,000 Cadillac.
BrownGhost10@reddit
Yeah it looks like a fancier lyriq.
BioDriver@reddit
Physical controls reserved for high luxury like Bentley and Rolls Royce, I see.
BrownGhost10@reddit
Going back in time is a luxury now.
Necessary_Wave_8103@reddit
hot take: i like it. outside and in. i dont mind the screens but a few more crystal physical buttons would still be nice ofcourse
ZenXw@reddit
Exterior giving me strong S-class Coupe vibes.
ZaheerAlGhul@reddit
Phenomenal exterior design.
truthdoctor@reddit
Sees exterior
I would buy that.
Sees Interior
Nevermind.

stunning... merc never stood a chance
416Elder_God351@reddit
Western world slacking on style. Disappointing
Practical-Pick1466@reddit
Horrible front end looks like the Horrible front end of the next gen Audi. Just Horrible...
Multifaceted-Simp@reddit
Front is nice rest is garbage
strongmanass@reddit
Exterior looks great.
Interior is the same as the 7 series, which is the same as the iX3 but with better materials and a passenger screen. That's extremely disappointing given they want to price Alpina like Maybach. That interior is fine for standard mid-level BMW, but doesn't belong on a $200K+ car.
peakdecline@reddit
I do not get passenger screens one bit. It simply crowds the view in something like a sedan. Ram puts it in their trucks (in higher trim/packages) in lieu of actual useful storage space. Just total net negatives.
If a passenger wants to stare at a screen they're going to pull out their phone, period.
I'm not a fan of the side to side dash screens but those I at least kind of get.... but these dedicate passenger screens are just terrible.

Yea, although I think that is BMW's strategy now.
To look very different from the outside, but then on the inside to look pretty similar to all other BMW's.
Just like how the current 230i has very similar interior stlying, atleast in terms of driver view to the XB7.

The Germans consistently shoot themselves in the foot when it comes to that. Mercedes and Audi are the same. It's the easiest way to make your high-end model look entry-level.
Gunmetal_61@reddit
Imagine the interior of an LC500 looking the same as an ES300…

Consider the bespoke rhombus though.
strongmanass@reddit
Maybe they'll make the screen out of diamond (or sapphire crystal for the plebs) and trim it in rose gold.
Astramael@reddit
Yea that’s a cool looking car. Seems like a good fit for Alpina.
Users5252@reddit
I like the rear end, but that grille looks horrible
costafilh0@reddit
Looks like the future.
As a car? I hate it.
As a transportation device? Very nice.
PretendLength1710@reddit
alpina went from tuning suspensions to tuning screens lol
Baby-girl-54321@reddit
Modern luxury cars trying to become rolling iPads.
executingsalesdaily@reddit
Wonder if they will be classics considering the screens.
Agloe_Dreams@reddit
The exterior design looks fantastic. Absolutely nailed it.
A_Pointy_Rock@reddit
So like...literally bright...because of all the screens.
