Haven't changed my thermal paste since the last 6 years

So I haven't changed my thermal paste from the day I built my PC and it has clearly started catching up to me, the PC has slowed down significantly, it has a 1650 super and 16gb ddr4 and a Ryzen 5 3500 cpu, will changing the thermal paste now be any good or is it a waste of money? And what part should I upgrade to play some of the lastest games even in low settings?ðŸ˜

could be your SSD is filling up? if not, then $10 thermal paste is worth a try.

the whole part? I mean, you can upgrade to R7 5800x3D when it comes back out over the summer and upgrade the GPU to RX 9060XT 16GB or better. but at that point, it's almost a new machine.

I think paste is the least of the worries here

Unless your system is thermal throttling it won't actually do anything.

I need to get a massive upgrade it seems

The 3500 would bottleneck even a 1080Ti.

so I need to upgrade both the cpu and the gpu?
