How many of you have a collection of "rare" 50 pence coins?

I was thinking today as I drew my spending cash out how long its been since I saw a non standard 50p in my change, then the Google homepage showed me some lunatic advertising a coin for 10k on eBay. I have 3 of that exact coin in my rainy day jar, there were 210,000 pressed.
Got me thinking, how many people set aside the decorative coins thinking they'll be worth more than face value in time, or is a coin just a coin to you?

I started collecting 50p's in 2018. Completed the commemorative set and then got drawn into the murky world of Pre-Decimal coins.
My collection now has to live in a safe otherwise my insurers won't cover it 🫣

If that is the kew gardens 2009 it’s the rare one. Can go for £100-£200. Sold my one for 80 quid a few years ago.
10k is way off.

Yes I have.
After kicking myself at having the original Kew Gardens pagoda 50p pass through my purse on a number of occasions years ago. I now collect every single 50p that isn't a normal one. Have a jar of them.
This time next year Rodney.....

Ive got the peter rabbit 50ps, got quite a few olympic ones. My mate has kew gardens, jammy git won it when he got the £25 jackpot on a bandit in a pub.

Bloody loads, my favourites are the Olympics and Peter rabbit ones.

Same. I have a few of each to give my kids when they are older 🤣

I have pretty much all of them collected. Been a while since I stopped collecting.
Those offering coins for 10k are people just hoping someone will be stupid enough to pay. There's no 50p worth more than £100. Only one or two is worth more than £15.
Some are rare, but it doesn't mean they're worth more.

My husband is a huge collector. He's also a bus driver so has an infinite swap glitch active.

I have about £200 in 50p and £2 coins. I don't handle cash in the same way to be able to swap them out anymore so my hunt slowed. Not found one for a few years now.

I have absolutely tons of 50ps, mainly the beatrix potter collection as my dad used to save them all from his shop for me and bring them home. Can’t bring my self to spend a single one!

I have a small 50p collection just sitting in a nice tin on the window ledge.
