Am I in the minority for thinking that nearly all of these “reimagined” cars are tacky
compared to the originals which they’re based on? The only exceptions I can think of are the CC850 and possibly the S1 LM

I imagine these boutique manufacturers suffer "pressure" from their customers to go bolder and bolder for each model. Just like with Singer, I think that the first Kimera is by far the best one, exactly because it still preserves the subtlety of the original cars.

I find the dls overdone and the dls turbo very overdone. The Classic Turbo I agree and it also looks fantastic. And yes, I know the inspiration behind the dls turbo, still find the result too much. Wouldn't say no to any of them ofc

I think a big difference here is that this is a legit new production car instead of a restomod. It’s technically not based on something else.

I agree that most of the 911 restomods are tacky, especially Guntherwerks, but this one doesn’t feel the same, in part because a Lancia isn’t as recognizable as a 911, so my impression when seeing this is “hey, here’s something new”.
