What is the exact career title I’m looking for called?

Hello, so I figured I should ask here but a career I’m interested in is the one where you go into tanks at aquariums to clean them and feed the animals. I’m not exactly sure what the position is called but it’s something I’m really interested in at the moment. I want to know what the correct title is called so I can find out what exact qualifications I need in order to pursue it.
Video taken by me at the New England Aquarium last year as reference to what I’m talking about

hi i work at an aquarium, so i feel qualified to answer this. (i do not work at the one in your video). Our divers are called exhibit divers, and they are the ones that get in and clean the tanks, but the aquarists are in charge of feeding/animal welfare. we have another department in charge of filtration, water changes, etc. that we call life support services, or LSS. This is not the case at every single aquarium, i can only speak for the one i’m employeed at, but i do hope it answers your question!! work diver pic included

Is open water certificate enough to do this?

Depends on the aquarium. The one I was at in gradschool was open water. they even offered upper level classes through the program.

Yippie! I love making $15/hr!!
I wish I was kidding dude. If you stick with it you can claw your way up the ladder and earn a living wage at the top but it's rough out there for aquarists/dive teams

So real it hurts

OP if you want to be paid to go in aquariums you'll need to go to the middle east

That's not a career lmao
That's just a job or volunteer gig you get while exploring life
(I'm a diver)

Objectively false

As a marine biologist I can tell you that almost every fun job in this branche won’t pay you because there are enough volunteers ready to do that for free

I don't know if it was divine intervention or the kinship of all living things, but I tell you Jerry at that moment I was a marine biologist!

Aquarist x Commericial Diver

It’s basically a Fish tank janitor but minimum wage to unpaid internship rollovers

The Georgia Aquarium utilizes volunteers to do this.

Aquarist. However they usually use volunteers for this job- so that would be “volunteer diver”. I did it all through school! I loved it!
