Anyone done one lately? Starting to look for a good shop. But the price is steep.

When budgeting, don't forget to tack on the cost of removing, shipping, and replacing the engine (hint: not cheap), along with replacing hoses and probably starter, alternator, and vacuum pump (also not cheap).
In EASA-land, that'll run you at least another 10 AMU. Probably around the same in the U.S. as well.

Well put new hoses and ditched the vacuum pump last winter...so guess I'm that far ahead of the curve...

You can count on an O-320 overhaul being around $36.5k with overhauled cylinders, 40k with new cylinders (if they can get them). More if you have a cracked case or bad crankshaft.

If you get under 30k I want to know where. Recently did an O-200 for 27.5

Did you? Where at? New crank and internals?

Can definitely recommend https://www.zephyrengines.com/
We used them for our 182P and feel we got excellent value for the money spent in workmanship and customer service.
Engine now has about 450 hours on it and hardly burns any oil. Runs smooth and with the expected amount of go go go.
