At last, a worthy stablemate to that Saiga in 444 Marlin. The guy in the article probably genuinely believed this was a Chinese NDM-86 somehow.
EvMund@reddit
they are totally off about what this thing is, but we ought to cut them some slack since this article was written in 2003, far prior to the accessibility of firearms knowledge we have today

Precisely. People forget just how hard it was to get any information on this stuff before the internet became what it is today. Plus the author didn't build it and obviously respects the builder. So if he says it's a Chinese Dragunov why wouldn't you believe him? It's his gun, he rechambered it, and he just repaired your Browning.
There's an additional fun combloc note from these dark times as well. One of the first builders of semi auto Skorpions had a Hell of a time learning anything about them since he didn't realize it was spelled with a " k" and really wasn't a gun guy.
" There was only one problem with this. RT Manufacturing had literally no idea what a Vz61 was or looked like. Further, Jack now laughingly admits he did not even know there was a “K” in the Skorpion name instead of the Americanized “C”. For this reason his first Internet searches turned up no information. Not admitting failure, Jack made the October, 2003, pilgrimage to Knob Creek and purchased his first Skorpion parts kit. Though he had the parts kit, he still did not know what it should look like."

It's pictured in Small Arms of the World (Ezell and Smith).
There were these things called books and magazines (Small Arms Review). There were lots of people who knew a lot about firearms before the Internet. "Jack" could have asked at Knob Creek.

So you’re saying… AK-50?

not that one.

I think your scientists were more concerned in asking if they could, they never stopped to think if they should
Thoughtpolicelabs@reddit
Clever girl scene might have turned out different with this abomination.
alexlongfur@reddit
PSL is not a Dragunov. Two separate rifles with 0 parts compatibility.
Cliffinati@reddit
A PSL is an AK dressed up like a Dragunov.
Very similar on the outside designed to do the same thing. Entirely different on the inside
Pruedrive@reddit
More like extreme RPK.
Much_Smell7159@reddit
Front sight is backwards as well
Anaxamander57@reddit
I like it. Guns need to be sleek, so they can cut through the water like a shark. Otherwise the gun would be unable to catch its prey and eventually starve.
