At some point in my late 20s I decided to head off the pain with weightlifting and running instead of getting fat. I have less pain at 40 than I did in my 20s after college. I run 10-20 miles a week and do a short lifting session 4 times a day. My knees are happier than they were in highschool.
I do about the same! I've never had great strength but I do have amazing longevity, so I can do cardio almost indefinitely if I pace myself well.
Lately I've found it alternates whether I'm being limited more by cardiovascular or joint considerations so I flip back onto weights when I think my knees need dedicated work. I think I'm getting back to that point right now.
I have friends who were all in on sports and athletics whose bodies are in shambles at 40. One friend who played a ton of baseball and gold can't lift his right arm vertical his rotator cuff is so fucked so... Yeah.
Those jokes may fly in the genx sub, I expect your next post to be about how you like to go to bed at 9pm.
I ran 13 miles last weekend, doing an Olympic triathlon this weekend, and I went to bed at midnight last night and woke up at 515a, and yes I do have a hangover, but also feeling great! 🤣💪
Good for you. Seriously! I'm glad you're capable. Blew both my knees in my teens during a bicycle accident and broke my back at 41 when a guy hit me head-on. I can walk, but it's not easy. Some of us didn't get quite so lucky in the health department, some folks actively let their physical health go. Just have some sympathy for those who aren't as lucky as you.

I'm more concerned about the lack of menisci, ligaments, etc.

And the left fibula being on the medial side
AlienDelarge@reddit
To be fair, it does say, "some assembly required." It makes sense for bones with no ligaments to have some settling in transport.

There’s a reason they’re on discount!

I turned 44 the other day. Literally when I woke up on my birthday my knee started hurting for absolutely no reason. 😞

I did a 10k yesterday! I mean sure, I couldn't put weight on my right knee for like two hours this morning but it's worth it right?

Yeah are people getting new knees in their 40s? Seems more like a 60+ thing.

How can you hold both boxes like that? Your fingers must be at least 7 inches long

Left knee missing a patella, no deal. Return these new knees.
