This was posted a couple days on r/ram_trucks
https://www.reddit.com/r/ram_trucks/comments/1tcbyv9/srt_ram_spotted/
Wide body, Quad Cab, short box, and relatively low to the ground. Streets tires, relatively lower profile. There's nothing currently offered by Ram in this configuration and that's definitely not a TRX/RHO.
If this is what Ram is doing then its going to be totally unique on the truck market. Not my cup of tea but interesting for sure.
No_Cherry_1423@reddit
Ford already has the Lobo for the F-150 and Maverick. It seems like its better received on the Maverick.
dr-jekyll@reddit
Lobo is just a body kit. It objectively sucks.
Drzhivago138@reddit
Looks more like a crew cab than a Quad (extended).
gdnws@reddit
Those rear doors look like quad doors to me. In a crew, they would be almost as long as the fronts.
Drzhivago138@reddit
I take it back; you're right. Quad+5.5' bed is such a weird choice, though.
gdnws@reddit
They might be trying to make it as short as they can with the existing platform for whatever reason. Not sure if it would be my choice but I can see some wanting that combination as it is as close as they can get to a regular cab short bed.
peakdecline@reddit
Yep. They don't offer a regular cab on DT generation Ram 1500s. They don't even offer this combination right now either but I assume its way less expensive to shorten the frame a bit and drop an existing cab and bed on it compared to spinning up a new cab.
gdnws@reddit
That is my assumption as well; reuse as many parts as they already have and add another length of frame of which they already have multiple.
jhowlett@reddit
I agree unique in the truck market, but Dodge kind of has this formula already in the Durango R/T and Hellcat. Just apply the same hardware to the Ram and you got a mean street truck.
_badwithcomputer@reddit
I saw the wide vehicle marker lights and was wondering if they were going to put fat ass street tires on there or if they were just decoration.
Looks like they intend to stick wide tires under it with those crazy fender flares.
nondescriptzombie@reddit
Like Ford never made the OG Lightnings or Chevy never made the 454SS or the Silverado SS.
DodgerBlueRobert1@reddit
Clearly they mean today, not 20-30 years ago.
nondescriptzombie@reddit
2013 Cadillac Escalade EXT? 450hp 6.2L V8, AWD, Quad Cab, Short Box....
DodgerBlueRobert1@reddit
First off, that was 13 years ago. There's no high-powered fullsize street truck on sale today, which was clearly the point OP making that you still don't get.
Secondly, it wasn't a considered a street truck in the same vein as the OG Lightning, 454SS, Silverado SS, and this new Ram.
Third, it didn't make 450 hp, it made 403 hp. Not to mention, the Escalade EXT was a proper quad-cab, and not a regular cab or extended cab like all the other street trucks from 20-30 years ago, and this new Ram.
And fourth, the Escalade EXT, and Avalanche by extension, was more closely related to the Suburban/Yukon XL/Escalade ESV than the Silverado because it didn't have a separate bed. The body and bed were connected to each other just like the aforementioned SUV's.
peakdecline@reddit
I thought it was pretty clear I'm referring to trucks being sold new in 2026.
nondescriptzombie@reddit
I think I would have used the word "boutique" instead of "unique."
letSSgooo@reddit
I think me means currently. Even the Mexican GTR isn’t this street oriented from factory.
Don’t forget the typhoon and syclone either man
ineyeseekay@reddit
It's not obvious that the comment refers to what you can buy new right now?
pablxo@reddit
This is… surprising?
I'd be curious to see the kind of numbers the Lobo did if Ram feels the need to do this as their response to it.
Either way, as a latino I feel like I'm allowed to say this: the Hispanic community is going to EAT this up
Hnry_Dvd_Thr_Awy@reddit
Fuck meeeeee that looks good.
Is it too much to ask for the 6.4L in a Dakota R/T... what about the 3.0L? I'm a reasonable person I'm not even asking for the Hellcat engine. Sure they'd sell eight of them but man would that be sweet.
FrozenUruguayBallbac@reddit
they have the 6.4 in the gladiator, which is what the dakota is probably going to be based on so why niot
Zapatos-Grande@reddit
I'm thinking of getting a second gen Dakota and 6.4L swapping it. I think Edelbrock is making a tuning kit. Had a 99 R/T for 8 years.
TwoSecondsToMidnight@reddit
Wait wait, let me guess: it’s a Ram crew cab with some fake aero parts and is going to have an MSRP of $82k.
PerfectlyBoosted@reddit
Price is unaffordable of course, but I think it’s cool. I love street trucks.

ZaheerAlGhul@reddit

I would pay 6 figures for a manual regular cab short bed v10, absolutely. Not gonna happen but I would buy one

The current ram high output hurricane can do a quarter mile in 12 seconds, so yeah honestly this could be crazy. It’s deeply upsetting to me that the charger and the new ram trucks are basically the same speed
gdnws@reddit
Car and driver has a high output ram 1500 limited at 12.8@ 106 mph so it is in the twelves but I wouldn't call it 12. It would almost certainly be faster if it wasn't bouncing off the top speed limiter which is at 106mph since it only takes 11.1 seconds to hit 100 mph however I don't think it would take it from high 12's to low.
Street_Algae_7475@reddit
I’ve seen people online with builds around 12/tunes that go below, but yeah that’s fair to say. I think the more important thing is that it is crazy crazy fast and outtraps a lot of ev pickups afaik
gdnws@reddit
I completely agree that it is crazy fast for what is really a run of the mill factory truck. The fact that it is in the 12's at all is impressive for something that weighs 6000lbs and has the aerodynamics of a barn and isn't even trying for speed in the first place. At least in the case of most of the ram lineup, they are meant as comfortable trucks not drag or track weapons. Just didn't want to get carried away with what it is capable of. If we started including modified, then the sky is the limit.
HimTiser@reddit
Man even the regular hurricane has no business being as good as it is. I get 20mpg out of my mixed commute, 400+ hp, quiet and smooth. I have been a V8 guy for a long time and my first test drive of the new Ram changed my opinion immediately.
FeldMonster@reddit
This is awesome. The off-road TRX never made sense. Terrible traction and handling with off-road tires and it being jacked up to the sky. A lowered street truck is also much easier to use as a normal truck.
pablxo@reddit
This is… surprising?
I'd be curious to see the kind of numbers the Lobo did if Ram feels the need to do this as their response to it.

onlyranchmefries@reddit
My F-150 has a 3/5 drop on it and I definitely get the most attention from the Hispanic guys on the street. All the white dudes just ask why you would lower a 4x4.
Oo__II__oO@reddit
Those same dudes are probably rolling low profile tires on oversized chrome rims too.
peakdecline@reddit
This would be the most focused street truck in 20+ years. I'd consider that surprising.
The F-150 Lobo was/is extremely low effort comparatively. Its using a standard output 5.0L on a standard CCSB F-150 with the mildest of possible suspension packages and body kit.
Oo__II__oO@reddit
Queue the inverse relationship between mpg and monthly payments.

Hnry_Dvd_Thr_Awy@reddit

EarthOk2418@reddit
It’s not about affordable, it’s about availability. Like right now the west coast only has about 4-5 weeks worth of gas left.

Can we just get Chinese EVs. I’m so sick of these overpriced American vehicles. 100k for a dodge truck or car is ridiculous.
Hnry_Dvd_Thr_Awy@reddit

executingsalesdaily@reddit
Lmao you say I’m broke because I think 100k is too much for a dodge. Okay….
ZaheerAlGhul@reddit
Single cab or nothing
peakdecline@reddit
One, I think you're destroying way too much of the potential market being single cab. A Quad Cab allows passengers and most truck buyers want that. But second... there is no single cab DT generation Ram cabin. They're Quad Cab or Crew Cab only (because of the first reason).
ItsAllRat@reddit
Seeing lowered trucks would be refreshing. I'm getting tired of these giant trucks with hoods that are almost six feet high.

Doesn't sound as batshit as the SRT-10 was, but then again, this also sounds way more usable.
Pickup trucks have taken over the regular sedan's old market, why not come for the sport sedans?
confirmd_am_engineer@reddit
Some of the fastest street racing vehicles in the world are pickup trucks. No reason a street truck can’t be fast, at least in a straight line.
IAmWellBehaved@reddit
Something like a SRT 392 and a Hellcat would be fantastic. And idk if this will be controversial but 4WD/AWD with these power levels should be mandatory, much as we all love the SRT-10s and Lightnings of old.
