There's a small club/museum in Austria, that preserves old planes and they offer to fly as a passenger on their pride, a restored 1941 U.S. Navy Stearman. I got a flight as a gift and went yesterday, unbeknown to me they just had, finally after 10 years of work, got their second 1940 Stearman airworthy and certified so they decided to take it into the air as well for their first flight together. Was absolutely surreal when the second one suddenly pulled into formation next to us, probably a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
If you are in the Vienna area I would highly recommend to visit them at Austrian Aviation Museum, super nice people, their hangar also is a hall that was used to zero the guns on Bf109s

Amazing plane. I see your Boeing Stearman, so here’s mine! Took the pic last Saturday. Didn’t get the chance to fly it, though.

Such a beautiful machine. If you ever find a chance to fly on one i'd highly recommend, bring a warm jacket and gloves though, even on a nice day, the wind is no joke

I’m not that far from Vienna (Although it would take me few hours by car to get there), might as well add it to my bucket list!

Way back in the 70s, aviation writer Gordon Baxter said (quoting a friend I think) as long as we have pipe and fabric, we can have Stearmans.
Great photo. Awesome experience. 😎
