She down every data center being proposed now!
jennlyon950@reddit
Between Thiel, Ellison's (father and son), Musk, and Schwarzman we are all sellable data points. Or if the companies make more sense it looks like Oracle / Paramount, BlackRock, X, Starlink, SpaceX, and Blackstone. A very coordinated national migration of power, where there is no opt out button.

Peter Theil is the literal definition of a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Double hype, extra sloppy!

Gross
ghostofculpeper@reddit
All these gross billionaires make me feel like I need a constant shower. Texas be like tread on me harder.
NicolasCageFan492@reddit (OP)
Yeah, it’s interesting that they’re all congregating in Texas.
SoUnga88@reddit
Is it really interesting or surprising? It’s not like there are laws that constrain the wealthy here.
Red_RingRico@reddit
“All the Californians are moving to Texas” yes, but not because they want to, because the billionaires who own the companies they work for don’t want to be required to give anything back to the state.
deadpixel746@reddit
Nah there are a LOT of California conservatives who love to move here and shit on California. They have figured out how to solve everything and they love to tell you about it
RichardPainusDM@reddit
It started out as tax policy but now it’s more than that.
Half of the Fortune 500 companies have relocated their headquarters to TX. TX has an international port, railroad hub, oil/natural gas energy sector, and now its own stock exchange that could challenge NYC as the financial hub of the US. Those are just the things I know about, I’m sure there’s other items like factories or agriculture.
At a certain point, Texas became “the place to be” because so many business people/businesses have to travel to TX anyways, why not just move there.
NicolasCageFan492@reddit (OP)
It makes sense when you consider Texas fought two wars in favor of slavery.
chesterriley@reddit
Stinking up the place.
Comet7777@reddit
They’re really not though. Most of the crypto banking and AI shilling is Silicon Valley and NYC.
joerotic@reddit
My exact reaction
Arrmadillo@reddit
What the flock? Anything tied to Thiel eventually turns into something dystopian.

"Watch out for-a Lu*gi!"
Homey-Airport-Int@reddit
He's one of several VC's backing the bank. Valar Ventures was spun off of Thiel Capital and invests in fintech startups. Like all VC's, most of their investments will go nowhere.
PrefersEarlGrey@reddit
Just like the Texas "Strategic" Bitcoin Reserve, there's no way this could blow up in their face.
What do you mean they bought $5 million worth at $92k last November and now it's trading under $80k?
chesterriley@reddit
Damn we should sue them for that.
duncandreizehen@reddit
Well the truth is the state government is for sale in Texas and it’s cheap. The state has been run by Republicans for more than 30 years so naturally, this is what you get.
dallasuptowner@reddit
Always disappointed to be reminded how close we got to something really good for humanity happening involving a McLaren.
chesterriley@reddit
Is Thiel's bank going to have protections against the anti-Christ? What if the anti-Christ uses it to store bitcoins to finance his operations? What if the anti-Christ copies his conciousness into an AI used by it? What if a magical anti-Christ AI steals all the bitcoins from his bank? Hopefully a genius like Thiel has thought long and hard about important stuff like this.
Jim_Nills_Mustache@reddit
I hate every word of this headline
Snobolski@reddit
Hey, c'mon, what did "in" ever do to you?

Fuck Peter Thiel with a cactus.
Lord_Blackthorn@reddit
He started another bank recently with the CEO of Anduril. Erebor Bank
PalpitationFrosty242@reddit
Interesting. I need to research this company knowing Palmer Luckey's involvement. I wouldn't trust either of these guys as far as I could throw them

The theft and lack of media literacy absolutely tracks.
Mang9@reddit
This is not, in fact, a stablecoin based bank. It is a fully regulated bank that has a stablecoin subsidy. A bit misleading.
Mang9@reddit
Banks are regulated - are you sure this is not a “fintech” rather than a real bank?
youhadabajablast@reddit
This combined with the whale mural getting painted over. Too much for one day
AmyWilliamse@reddit
Nothing says financial stability like combining AI hype and crypto in the same sentence.

Where are the likes of the Prestonwood Baptist, Lakepointe Church, Elevate Life and the idiot Robert Jeffress to oppose this with their shariah law…err christian nationalist vision?
I mean…Peter Thiel is pretty open about his sexuality and he’s setting up a bank which usually qualifies as usury…
Oh wait, they won’t say anything because even though they spew hatred all day long, they are full on hypocritical cowards.
Homey-Airport-Int@reddit
It's a clearing bank so loans are not a primary function.
I find it bizarre anyone would wish for homophobic opposition to their political adversaries unless they are also homophobes. Hateful.
