Loving how she looks and drives.
2003 P71 used as a ghost car in Vernon BC in rare red. Trac-Lok LSD. Thrush Welded Mufflers. Moog CC501 rear springs, 1.5 coils cut in front. 17" Mustang Bullitt style Rims (OE). ELH headlights with LED.
Next on the list is cleaning up the rusty calipers & repaint. Then body work + Cut & Polish. Want to preserve the factory red paint.

These are the perfect project car.

For $3200 CAD and 117,000miles, I cannot complain at all! Really fun and tons of aftermarket / mod support

That looks way nicer than the one I bought. I just bought a P71 from a cop auction for $2,000 cause it looked like a stupid fun idea.
But in my defense it did have a push bar....

Don't let Cleetus see that , he'll try and buy it.

Those thrush mufflers sound so good on a 4.6. That’s what my dad had on his mustang. He also coincidentally has his stock wheels sitting around “just in case” for something like this. So rad!

Do you know if he cut the secondary cats out? I have my cats still on, but want it louder. Wondering if cutting the secondary cats will wake up the Thrush growl a bit.
tplesmid@reddit
He had all his cats. But the mustang might’ve had a little different layout upstream? They were welded into his old summit cat back when the original mufflers rusted out.
kieranc14@reddit (OP)
Ah okay, I will have to look into it. I love the tone but it's really quiet on mine. I think chopping the secondary cats should help
tplesmid@reddit
Not super related but a catless mid pipe made my NC Miata way louder. Going from 2 cats to 1. So it should for sure.

Awesome, it makes sense!

Nice clean Vic.

Really suits those wheels, very nice

Thankyou!

That looks awesome. It’s going to look amazing after a cut & polish

Yeahh debating doing it myself VS paying a shop. On project car's I think part of the fun is learning and doing everything yourself, but paint can be really tricky

I had one these cars years ago. Absolute tank but infuriating to work on if you needed to get anywhere south of the water pump. I've read a 5.4 is a pretty easy swap.
kieranc14@reddit (OP)
So far everything has been easy to work on, but haven't had to get passed the water pump yet!

Matador Red Metallic, I believe was the name for that color.

Oh that's cool, didn't know that!

There’s a great looking Panther body like yours that a dad at my kids’ school drives. Clean and rumbly. Always gives me ideas.

Pick one up, you won't regret it. They're tanks too, the 4.6 2v will live forever if maintained.

Looks great. The stance sitting on those Bullitts is fantastic and the red is gorgeous.

Appreciate it! Result was better than I expected, fits perfect

Now I know how much more front spring I need to cut on mine when I can get to it again, thanks!
kieranc14@reddit (OP)
Yes, 1.5 coils is perfect amount on stock CVPI springs to match Moog cc501 rear spring lowered height!
