Glock generation identification help.

Hi all!! I just purchased a glock 21, and I do not know what generation it is. It’s old and used, but does not have any slide or grip markings to show.

Gen 3 mag release, gen 2 doesn't have light rail this does, finger grooves. Gen 4 and on have the bigger square mag release.

if it has a rail and doesn't say a gen on it its gen 3. Gen 2 didn't have the rail(some gen 3 didn't have the rail), gen 4+ says the gen

We just know (jk, you can just google the generations and compare features, it's not hard)

Yours also has the RTF2 frame texture and "frying pan" finish. Those are more desireable things, but they really don't demand a premium.

I believe it was an old police training gun. The store I purchased it froms customer base is like 99% law enforcement.

Not a training gun, just a trade in. Local department likely upgraded to Gen 5 or a different model and dumped their old inventory. Extremely common and a great source for cheap lightly used guns. I paid like $209 for my Gen 3 G22 with 4 mags.

That would explain a lot. When I looked in they had an entire like, wall mounted big ass glass pistol case all full of 21SF’s. I just blankly pointed and was like “I’ll take that one” lol
