Blitz Week Survivors

It's over. Some of us are buying new cars and others are looking for new jobs.
Anybody get shut down by an overzealous DOT officer?
Did anyone else see rates in the $10/mi range.
Which ones of you do I have to thank for taking the week off?
Glum_Comfort_3675@reddit
Got pulled into 1 scale and no one was even there
MR_6OUIJA6BOARD6@reddit
Didn't seem any different crossing from Vegas to SoCal, which I usually do daily. Business as usual at the scale.
adventure_dog@reddit
ive missed it the last 3 years due to taking time off for the kids school vacation
LonleyWolf420@reddit
Oh yeah that's exactly why you take it off haha
RedlineM5@reddit
I pulled into 1 scale and got bypassed.

Most Weigh stations were closed going to and from IL to GA so I didn’t even notice however, in April I had 2 level 2 inspections so yeah

Not a prob, Local Indiana driver
DrillTheThirdHole@reddit
if you arent a shitbag and dont work for a shitbag company then you don't even notice blitz week. it's simply irrelevant if you run good equipment, do your pretrips, check your weights and dont cheat on your hours.
Lord_B33zus@reddit
Nah, you notice. There’s a lot less of the shit drivers on the road. I wouldn’t mind blitz more often.
DrillTheThirdHole@reddit
very true, but i like to just think its always like that for the week i get it. helps keep morale high

Maybe it's just me but I could be less than a mile out from my pre trip and I'll still be nervous getting pulled in for a level one.
DrillTheThirdHole@reddit
sounds like you have an anxiety thing. if you do your pre trip right every time, you have nothing to fear because you know exactly what the dot will find when they look.
TruckinBob32@reddit
Funny how ppl are so worried about it.....is your truck and trailer good? Are your logs good? Are you up to date on all your permits, ifta, etc.? Are your weights correct? Then you don't got shit to worry about!!!
RebelTvshka@reddit
I don't like wasting an hour to fill someone's quota. Like going into Wyoming, it never fails I have to eat 5-10 minutes to get through the line just for them to wave me on. It's whatever, but it's just less annoying to stay home. Not like I absolutely need the money.
TruckinBob32@reddit
Well when my inspection is clean I get paid so 50 bucks.
RebelTvshka@reddit
I used to be happy about that, until I caught nails on the roadway that cost me 2 safety bonuses. I'd need 10 inspections to make up for one of them.
TruckinBob32@reddit
That's y I pull over on a ramp when a weigh station is coming up check lights and tires listen for leaks. But also I've had an air line blow 5 seconds into a level 1 when they were doing the brake test.
RebelTvshka@reddit
That's a great idea, I've been too pissy and upset to consider that. We have them new AI cameras in our trucks, I wonder if that'll trigger an event. Worth it imo, if it prevents a OOS event. Did they cite you for the air line? I'd think they'd be the ones at fault there instead of you.
TruckinBob32@reddit
Yeah I basically got a "fix it" ticket because the air wasn't leaking fast enough. Was still able to make my delivery had to go to our yard to get it fixed. The company handled the mailing of the ticket with proof of repair.
BrattySubSam@reddit
I never even got stopped
Defiant-Medicine3014@reddit
I was broke down the first 2 days. Guess there was a bright side. I was out yesterday and had no trouble tho. Got bypassed every scale I passed
Charlie_Hustler@reddit
As a Night Haul driver. I didn't even see the scales open once lmao. Roads were nice and clear and DOT was fast asleep 😂😂
AgapeAnus@reddit
I didn't get pulled over or inspected once and I was pissed because I just got a brand new truck and would've passed with flying colors.
Goldleader-23@reddit
Got lucky and my days off perfectly lined up with blitz. Now just have to dodge the post week enforcement lol
