Millietree@reddit
I see these in Sainsbury's, but I've never tried them, what are they like?
hollyyy16@reddit
they’re bland like a rich tea but they don’t fall apart at the first sign of moisture. i like them to dunk in tea but i wouldn’t eat one on its own.
sillwuka@reddit (OP)
I have never seen these in shops. Any good?
nabster1973@reddit

Ah, but do you pronounce them "nyce" or "neese"?
Defiant_Routine_9535@reddit
Id go for 'neese" cus any biccy could be described as 'nyce'
Defiant_Routine_9535@reddit
Nice dipped in a cup of tea is top tier 🙂

Not an English Biscuit, but a Nankhatai, they are sold here and can easily find them, fresh in Pakistani bakery or packaged version in a most Pakistani Supermarkets (packed ones are hit and miss).
The best version I've found are the ones made by Peak Freans (English Biscuit Manufacturers)

There seems to be a shortage in my region - not even an empty label left on the shelves. Just...gone.
I fear I may have contributed by trying to diet for a while, and every Tesco and Asda in a fifty mile radius found that purchases had just died off, so didn't restock. I'll never make this mistake again.
Bicolore@reddit
Can't eat them anymore after that traumatic incident in Aldi.
_CarbonSaxon_@reddit
When Gareth lost all his hair?
Bicolore@reddit
No, it happened by the pasta. I’m banned now.
SuddenlyDiabetes@reddit
Do you have to go to Asda now by any chance?
Bicolore@reddit
I do😔
KingForceHundred@reddit
They’re pretty well known.
Lazy-Limit-8684@reddit
Not really
KingForceHundred@reddit
I’ll disagree then. Anyone here not know of them?
decisiontoohard@reddit
I couldn't have told you what they were without looking them up, although I've heard the word. Hearing about them doesn't constitute knowing them if I couldn't even tell you a single component part.
Lazy-Limit-8684@reddit
Yeah if you read the comments under my comment you will see OP didn’t know about them. Also we are talking about ‘lesser known’ not ‘totally unknown’ use a bit of social intelligence
KingForceHundred@reddit
The OP said they hadn’t tried them, that’s all. We’re talking about lesser known not popularity here.
Lazy-Limit-8684@reddit
Yeah, garibaldis are lesser known.
KingForceHundred@reddit
I agree they are lesser known than digestive, most biscuits are.
Lazy-Limit-8684@reddit
Why are you wasting your time arguing whether garibaldis are lesser known biscuits?

The A75 from Dumfries to Stranraer/Cairnryan is a slog. Single lane carriageway, for almost the whole stretch, with loads of lorries heading for the ferry terminal, and it just takes forever.
We travel to Northern Ireland a couple of times a year, and have taken that route through Scotland more than once. But I'd much rather drive through Wales, get the boat to Dublin and drive up.
loveswimmingpools@reddit
Jam and cream ring. Not a jammy dodger...those are not good because the jam is rock hard and there's no cream filling.
sillwuka@reddit (OP)
Yeah, love these too!
Millietree@reddit

ItsGoodToChalk@reddit
What can I say, I'm a rebel and like to live life dangerously.
Unfair_Original_2536@reddit
I almost wrote about the caramel log as opposed the caramel wafer then remembered that's a snack bar an not a biscuit and that's essentially a coated stroopwafel

blueyonderbear@reddit
Abernethy, could munch at least half the packet.

Malted Milk. They’re all about the same price of 50p per packet but it has to be from M&S. The silky smooth texture whether dunked or eaten plain. Personally I prefer eating them dunked.
EcstaticFig4959@reddit

Farley’s Rusks and I don’t care that I’m in my 50s.

robjamez72@reddit
We have! I might go tomorrow, cheers.
Rude-Possibility4682@reddit
Same. But,Do they still do the full sugar, ones, last time I tried one, it was full of sweetener, and had that horrid metallic taste.
robjamez72@reddit
As far as I know. I think the red box is original and the blue one is reduced sugar for people without taste.
sillwuka@reddit (OP)
Nice! I enjoy cake rusks made by Regal but not sure it's a biscuit.
No_Application_8698@reddit
My dad loves these too (he's in his early 70's!)
EUskeptik@reddit
Bath Olivers.
Currently out of production but expected to be ‘rescued’ a for second time, Bath Olivers are intended to be eaten with cheese. They have a creamy texture and a smooth, very subtle flavour that doesn’t detract from the cheese.
Bath Olivers do the same for cheese as Malvern Water does for whisky. Add Malvern Water to a top quality whisky and it doesn’t detract from the flavour in the slightest. It is one of the purest spring waters to be found anywhere in the world.
Alas Malvern Water became unavailable because owners Coca-Cola shut the operation down despite it being profitable. It is available on a very small scale from locally-owned Holywell Water Company but is quite difficult to find.
If you live locally, Malvern water can be collected free of charge from springs.

My MVP every time! I think it’s a controversial opinion to love them, but I’m such a textures person that I can’t resist. Crunchy, crumbly, and chewy all in one? Perfection. I’ve found there’s less crunchy sugar than there used to be, though, goddamn sugar tax.

Great answer but I do think it falls into the well known, tried and tasted category. Do you have another option to add?
