I'm annoyed that I want this as badly as I do.
wren4777@reddit
Never thought I'd see this. Maybe there's hope for a modern board with a P5Q colour scheme.
James_Jack_Hoffmann@reddit
The P5Qs were such a golden era that time. I still remember hunting an LGA775 board that supported AGP and they were the limited choices that time.
Gigabyte had the really good Ultra Durable lineup that was so good and easy to follow (UD3, UD5, UD7, UD9) only to throw away it with... Aorus? still makes me smh to this day.
wren4777@reddit
P5Qs were pcie only as far as I remember. But there were other P5x boards that took AGP (but only 90/65nm CPU support at least officially).
James_Jack_Hoffmann@reddit
I had to look it up and it was this board: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/256601041834
Good times, I couldn't afford a PCI-E card that time so I tried to squeeze out what's left of my AGP card with it.
wren4777@reddit
That board is a P5Q Pro, it doesn't have any AGP slots. Only pcie and PCI.
James_Jack_Hoffmann@reddit
Oh right, yeah you could be right about it being PCI-e only. I do remember it was certainly along the same design. The alternative was DFI's, but because it was very niche being AGP and LGA775 at the same time, they were hard to come by.
mj_outlaw@reddit
true, it reminded me of my old p5q-e
Toto_nemisis@reddit
It says crosshair. It will be over 1k.
Dont get me wrong, this is REALLY COOL! Im very excited to see this again.
But dang.... its going to be expensive and drivers will probably suck still lol
toedwy0716@reddit
Hopefully it’s not $800, you think the VRM heatsinks are real copper or are they just aluminum painted a copper color? I dig it either way.
dabocx@reddit
If it’s based on the dark hero which is already 700 then this is definitely going to be at least 800
Andreioh@reddit
Monkey paw curls, MSRP Is probably going to be $900. ASUS tax, ROG tax, anniversary edition tax, copper tax and heatsinks with actual airflow tax all combined means this is going to be very pricy.
VTOLfreak@reddit
It has actual fins on it for heat dissipation, that's already better than the giant metal blocks we usually get nowadays.
neueziel1@reddit
Too pretty and coordinated to be retro
a5ehren@reddit
Tbf it almost looks like the first one

I’m thinking about 90s motherboards
deedeekei@reddit
20 years ago was... 2006..... D:
neueziel1@reddit
Oh whoops just focused on retro
Leo1_ac@reddit
Look up ASUS P5Q Deluxe.
ComplexEntertainer13@reddit
Retro?
Green PCB or gtfo!
cocktails4@reddit
Yeh I heard retro and thought green.
therealpatsy@reddit
Oh boy, this motherboard is going to cost more than my last PC did.
Marco-YES@reddit
2007 called and they want their motherboards back.
IshTheFace@reddit
I thought it looked good.
Marco-YES@reddit
2007 is [almost] 20 years ago.
Demented_CEO@reddit
That's like saying a PS3 is considered a retro console now...
Marco-YES@reddit
The PS3 is a retro console.
pmjm@reddit
Next you're gonna tell me Ratatouille is an old movie.
Durendal_1707@reddit
Toy Story is older than Anna Taylor Joy
Marco-YES@reddit
We are as far from Ratatouille as it was as far from Spaceballs.
gusthenewkid@reddit
It is
IshTheFace@reddit
Back in my day.. *waves closed fist*
Homerlncognito@reddit
It looks way too modern. Wouldn't pass for a 2007 board even at the first sight.
draw0c0ward@reddit
Omg love it! Truly looks like a modern version of my original RoG Maximus Extreme from 2007.
pmjm@reddit
Looks bad ass and I would love to throw one of these in a SilverStone FLP02 and party like it's 2009.
But it's probably gonna cost $1000.
a1b3c3d7@reddit
I dont care for these, but it'll be cool to see retro sleeper builds with em
splendiferous-finch_@reddit
So we are now in the restomoding era of computers
shoukanju@reddit
This needs to go into that retro Silverstone case
gusthenewkid@reddit
Damn, that looks real nice.
