M.2 NVME SSD not working

I've had this SSD installed for years and all of a sudden seemingly randomly 'dies' i check steam and it says "Disk Write Error". I check the local files inside the drive and it says "A device which does not exist was specified". It crashes my games and works 'fine' again after restarting my PC until it inevitably happens again. Any ideas on fixes?

To check whether it is the drive itself or the slot, try it in another slot. But it's likely to be the drive.

run crystaldiskinfo nd check the health status, reallocated sectors or uncorrectable errors mean the drive is failing. also check device manager for any yellow warnings on the ssd. if the health looks bad back everything up immediately before it goes completely
