Reddit-shaped, no operator power, no stored emails. Roast me.

Subs, threads, votes, mods. None of the rest.
- Operator runs the lights. No mod appointments, no override button, no special voice. If I go bad, fork the repo and walk.
- Sign-in is a magic link. The email is fingerprinted on arrival and never stored — same address on two plato sites gives you two unrelated handles.
- Public modlog. Enough community flags auto-collapse a post; enough upvotes after a mod removal auto-restore it. The math can override the mod.
- Plain text only, no uploads. RSS out of every sub, RSS in for your follows + replies. Interop on day one.

Why do people like classic Reddit? Is it purely nostalgia?

for me, i always preferred reddit design and focus on discourse with pseudonames, pictures and found myself able to discuss without unconsciously judging, and the design focus on text and timeline with tree like comments. Others focus on who you are over what you say. But of course, i hate Reddit's mods and way of mods, so I tried to balance it off a bit more with checks and balances. I didn't like the federation model as it creates more noise and unnecessary friction. I think smaller communities is better than jack of all trades trying to appeal to everyone and ending up appealing to only influencer's account and Western countries where ads are mostly sold for their high ability to pay-get in debt - I am referring to Meta

I like the design. The minimal monospace design reminds me of a site I run myself for aggregating STEAMD (STEM plus arts and design topics) posts from many sources:

I love this, what is limereader?
busymom0@reddit
It aggregates posts on STEAMD topics from many sources and shows them at a single place in chronological order (STEM plus arts and design topics). Here's more info:

and who chooses the articles? Pre sifted/auto selected?

Can you at least write a post yourself without AI?

:(
But I want to upload. I want reaction gifs and polls. I want videos to show off what I made, or to share memes with friends

I understand, pictures and videos dilute conversations and add a whole layer of storage, content management and privacy. You can add links as much as you need
