There’s always one democrat ducking us it’s almost like it was planed that way.
tnh34@reddit
The moment you establish "us vs then" you're already part of the problem.
pandershrek@reddit
Maybe if we didn't elect 50% known corrupt individuals we wouldn't have to rely on the other 50% to hopefully be ethical.
Inferno976@reddit
They're both on the same side, and it's not yours.
aperture413@reddit
You target the right politician at the right time to buy them- this is how I imagine it happens.
Bullet-Ballet@reddit
I think it's coordinated by the Dem leader in the House. He says, "You aren't up for reelection any time soon," or "You're retiring," or "Your seat is the most secure." ... "so it's your turn to vote against the will of the people."
Even if I'm wrong, Dem leadership should be held accountable for their failure to whip votes.
FrankSand@reddit
They're too busy trying to market themselves as centrists and meeting with there donors to be concerned about American people.
Unusual_Specialist@reddit
One more reason we need term limits.
aperture413@reddit
They should definitely be accountable. I'm just not convinced of an intentional coordinated effort that borders on a conspiracy like that though. I do think that people can easily be black mailed and negotiated with for personal gain.
Plastic-Ad-5324@reddit
Worse, it's coordinated though each individual representative's AIPAC handler. Another country dictates our domestic policy.
keto_55@reddit
i aint no genius but isnt 210+1 211 and not 212
itsachickenwingthing@reddit
FYI the Dem nay vote was Jared Golden of Maine.
MirabilisLiber@reddit
Thought it was Fetterman
etreydin@reddit
he’s at the senate level.
GWS2004@reddit
That guy is basically a Republican.
PatsFreak101@reddit
It’s been annoying watching his transition from Blue Dog Democrat to moderate Republican. He clearly dramatically over corrected after coming out in favor of gun control after the mass shooting in his home town. I can’t come up with a better reason why he keeps supporting an open ended pointless war and economic policy that died with the Hoover administration
GWS2004@reddit
He's also against Maine lobster industry making changes to help right whales.
PatsFreak101@reddit
As someone from his District I’m tired of asking his staffers why he keeps making these bonehead votes and them not having a good answer.
therapistofcats@reddit
He must have received a call from his AIPAC handlers saying they would want the money back because earlier in the day he was saying otherwise.

What they say is usually not what they do
ASOG_Recruiter@reddit
Probably didnt think it was going to be that close and his yes vote would get lost in the sauce.
forbiddenfreedom@reddit
What a dumbass.
SavageDownSouth@reddit
That makes this so much worse.
johnwaynewearsadress@reddit
Of course there's always one

There's always just enough. Sometimes it's a few, but they make sure to grasp defeat from the mouth of victory on the daily.
Yeahha@reddit
The house still showing they don't work for the interests of the American people.
tnh34@reddit
Why is this war bad for America?
Correct_Doctor_1502@reddit
It's tanking the economy all to distract from the fact the Trump regime is illegally withholding over 3 million Epstien files and is openly and actively protecting child raping art killers
pandershrek@reddit
Nothing for something.

Hell, the American people don't work for the American people.
HagalUlfr@reddit
I would, I would make the whole nation uncomfortable while I pass executive orders reversing the tax changes to the wealthy when Regan was in office, same with what he did to education, colleges.
I would reinstate energy perks for getting solar, evs, and installing car chargers at home (though the latter is still active until january?). I would bug businesses to get them on the roof of the buildings they own.
I would let customers sell their power back to these bonkers utility companies, then make said companies rethink their price hikes.
I'd deport elon. Sorry guys, he hit a big nerve with his seig heil. Same with Bannon. Bye turds.
Any nazi group would be treated as domestic threats. The gop gaggle in office right now would all be set to trial, nueremburg style.
Scientists would be back in places needed, cyberdefence would be reinstated. China, well, we'd look into penetration testing for their evs, if they pass, let's sell them. They're a lot better than comparable $50k cars.
I could go on.. but autism is bad and the general public would shun me for being myself.

This system is broken.
RedisaPsyop5647@reddit
I'm not entirely sure if it was ever working to begin with in the first place.
Born-Leading8268@reddit
The system was an honest creation of human society, that has been steadily corrupted over generations.
Thats why these civilizations last 250 years like clockwork
bitchstolemywaffles@reddit
i think that if you really dive into the history of this never-great country, you will discover that it has literally always been corrupt, and never about human rights or “freedom.” it has always been about the many for the few.
Born-Leading8268@reddit
I’m looking even further back at the creations of money, low and order and hierarchies.
Good intentioned creations turned to their worst in decay
ripnrun285@reddit
It’s been so perverted over time. This system isn’t even the same system from 30 years ago. We still call it America, but we’ve removed all the ideals & upside which leaves us with this hyper-capitalistic, empty system that is devoid of any sense of integrity or justice. I’m not saying America has EVER been what they claim it to be, but the system today barely even resembles the system I grew up under. Things like citizens United, aipac, “net neutrality”, shadow dockets, etc. have all completely bankrupt this country of even a modicum of the values it’s supposedly built upon. For the sake of brevity, I won’t ramble on further, but you get the gist. The system IS working the way these fascist oligarchs want it to, so maybe “broken,” isn’t the right word. It has been raped & pillaged & abused into a system that is almost unrecognizable. The past 2 years, we have been witnessing the above-ground growth of the seeds of fascism that were being slowly sown & growing roots. We tried to warn ppl, repeatedly, and they called us alarmist doomsayers. 😴
Inferno976@reddit
The system is working exactly as intended.
captainrustic@reddit
Fucking republican cowardice.
Rabbit-Hole-Quest@reddit
It’s AIPAC.
The core Republican base doesn’t really care about war with Iran. It’s a net loss as a topic for elections.
Trump literally campaigned on no new wars and know has flipped the script.

I am fascinated by the comments on this thread. Maybe it is because this is r/prepperintel and y’all, my fellow preppers are just a cut above the rest, but the comments on the one democratic holdout, and the democratic party in general, are awfully tepid for a violation of the constitution. If this were the republicans, or the republican party, letting the people down (which they are, but it’s lost in the sauce), i would expect chants about how evil they are. Again, maybe y’all are just too classy.
ADirtyFlirt@reddit
That’s because we can’t say how we really feel on Reddit.
tnh34@reddit
Sure you can. It's better to say your piece and get downvoted than join the hivemind.

210 GOP members saying “America First, but Israel Firstest”. If you keep voting for these people you are to blame
Ghost_of_Durruti@reddit
Can we authorize military action against the 212 who voted against?
darksunshaman@reddit
Speeshul three day military operation
88warrior4547@reddit
Time to primary Jared Golden
Additional_Nonsense@reddit
By now, everyone should know this is just a show, and they tell each representative upfront what to vote for.
that_random_scalie@reddit
It's always ONE democrat and they keep changing who the single dissenting vote is, they're a controlled opposition party
blueflloyd@reddit

crlthrn@reddit
Fetterman being a Republican, as usual. Trump's 'favourite Democrat.'
maiclazyuncle@reddit
Do Americans ever wonder if the democratic party is just controlled opposition? Like, you're choosing between one party that wants to cut taxes to corporations, and another party that wants to make it easier for corporations to offshore everything to countries without taxes..
anthro28@reddit
They're the same party, except on a handful of social issues.
Thunderclone_1@reddit
Yeah, he's a worthless turncoat, but he's a senator, not a representative.
crlthrn@reddit
Ah. Thanks.Apologies. European here. And he's still a dick. 😁
gu1lty_spark@reddit
I live in Pennsylvania and was happy to vote for him. Worst spent vote of my life. Also I'm impressed that you're that knowledgeable about US politics as a European. I don't know much about individual EU countries political intricacies except for Hungary and the UK.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I have a sinking feeling that Germany, France, and the UK are gonna swing hard right with the unpopularity of Starmer (who is fascinating), Macron (who is more fascinating), and Merz.
sjrotella@reddit
Don't feel bad about a wasted vote. Letterman suffered brain damage, which turned him into a republican.
Strokes be like that. Just vote him out in your primaries when you can!
