If you haven’t heard of this conflict here’s a little summary. The Netherlands relinquished control of West Papua in 1962 and the following year Indonesia took control of the territory. In 1969 Indonesia had West Papua vote on integration, but only allowed 1,025 selected representatives from the population of around 800,000 to vote.
Not having a proper vote on self determination has led to an independence movement going for the last 5 decades. The conflict hasn’t been peaceful with nearly 100,000 people having been displaced and between 100,000-500,000 have been killed.

Huge tension. Its one of the reasons why Indonesia got particularly uppity about East Timor.

I didn't know about the conflict that's happening in Western Papua because my country's (Serbia's) media and television channels, mainly the television channel that me and my family watch, rarely report anything on it.

That was me sorry, my other post was removed due to not showing the collapse since it was more of a news report. I redid my post with this video since it shows the conflict in action.

If you are curious as to how you can help, one way is by not supporting Indonesia’s tourism sector. Tourism is a large part of Indonesia’s economy so by not visiting places like Bali or Komodo National Park it puts economic pressure on the country. Another way is simply helping spread awareness of the conflict in West Papua, it is very unknown to the average person sadly.

Indonesia is the biggest pedophile market in SE Asia, the tourism is not gonna stop because of this alone.
I know Thailand is getting all the bad rep, but Thailand does not have 250 million mostly uneducated and very religious poor people to offer.
