What was the first NEW car that you remember being excited for?

Car guys like us should remember the first new car that we got excited for. Either an entirely new model or a new generation of an existing model. What was everyone’s first brand new car you were excited for before it actually hit dealer lots? For me it was the 1994 Mustang, the redesign from the Fox body was amazing at the time, and I bought a CPO 94 after I wrecked my Fox body. I had just turned 21 at the time. And I don’t remember being as excited for a new model before that. And the only other car I was as excited for when it was released since, I ended up buying new it was the Shelby Series 1.

370z. It looked so much cooler than the 350z in my eyes.

The cool thing about the 1994 Ford Mustang was that it looked newer and more modern, but still felt like a real Mustang. A lot of people who liked the Fox body cars remember how exciting that redesign was when it first came out.

I loved the model A back when it came out. I was a 69 year old corn farmer at the time and i thought that thing was badass

Rolls Royce Spectre
ICE just doesnt suit RR, electric drivetrain just seemed far more elegant and sophisticated and fitting to the brand.
Its been my dream car since.

Scion Frs commercials had me as a kid, I remember thinking a boxer engine must be something crazy because theres no way such a sporty looking car could just have a NA 4 cylinder

Make fun of me if you want, but I was genuinely excited for the Elio, I saw it in person twice. In retrospect I’m glad I didn’t put down a deposit.

Those were cool, but not practical for me at the time.

Kinda first and last. Porsche 996/986 Boxster/911.
I am not really excited by new cars, definitely wasn't after that point.

Same here I don’t like modern cars as much as I liked the older ones when they came out.

I loved my 1967. But it was far from new when I bought it.

Definitely the ‘05 Mustang for me. The retro styling was so on point at the time.
