Practicing new drone moves at camp

Practicing some new drone moves today. 🚁
On our way to Tofino we took the long route and disappeared into some remote backroads. 🌲🚙
The rivers were beautiful, but the bugs were basically waiting for us like unpaid campground staff. 😂 So tonight we’re camping away from the water.
Tomorrow? No promises. If the views are good enough, we might sacrifice ourselves to the mosquitoes again.

Can you post some pictures on how you installed your track pads on the alucab ?

what do you do to sleep in the tent when its obscenely hot out?

I have a fan and an A/C unit I never use.

The tofino backroads are fun, though I don’t head down that way all too much due to the gates, cross ditches, and tourists. I stick to the north island as we have next to no gates and far fewer people, I’d argue the scenery up this way is just as nice if not nicer, particularly on the west coast of the north island.

There are gates everywhere. I wasn’t expecting that.

Just gets worse and worse every year unfortunately. I love tofino, spent tons of time there over the years, but my visits down there these days are only to visit family rather than explore the backroads.

bet the moves look good but the shaking ruins it

Not doing that effect ever again

Thanks. I genuinely though my screen glitched. And/or my internet connection was bad.
Travelr3468@reddit
I personally would skip the flashing effects too
kotsikas@reddit
I thought the drone hit the tree lol.

Came to say this

This is probably, and I mean this with all due respect, the worst drone video I have ever seen. You middle aged amerikan white guys are fucking funny tho. Carry on...

Great shot. Is that jitter caused by air currents?
theloneoverlanders@reddit (OP)
No, I added an effect with the music beats but went a bit overboard with it. The footage itself is flawless
PonyThug@reddit
You sure you didn’t hit something lol
PonyThug@reddit
Every effect is obnoxious. Only reason I kept watching was to see how much worse it could get lol.
Reminds me of a 6th grader editing video or power point transitions in their first project ever.

OK, I'll be that guy.
As a Canadian, I love the fact that you're out here overlanding and enjoying the back country that so many of us hold in such high regard. I hope you're enjoying your trip.
However, please be aware that Canada has very strict rules for drone usage, especially in Parks and around populated areas.
Doubly-so with the fire season upon us, it is strictly forbidden to fly drones anywhere the might be fire-fighting aircraft in operation (despite the temptation to get footage of the burns for the 'Gram).
And I recognize that this footage seems pretty remote - looks like a FSR or similar, so you're really not bothering anyone else with the low-level drone buzzing (I assume that you're travelling with the folks in the grey Sprinter van). But please make sure you don't do that in areas where others are trying to enjoy the peace and quiet.
Enjoy your travels!

This American agrees with you. Even when they’re not disrupting people, drones wreak havoc on wildlife. They cause animal stress and habitat displacement (animals leave regular hunting grounds because they’re freaked out), plus they cause nesting birds to abandon their hatchlings (the parents mistake the drones for predators and flee). Please resist the temptation to use drones to capture the beauty of natural spaces.

Is your drone being attacked

You made something so peaceful feel like a club lol

What drone are you using?
