Between the Aventon Level 4 REC & Lectric ONE Long-Range

Hello all! I’ve just moved to nw baltimore & am looking for a general commuter. My budget is <$3k, and currently stuck between these two, but if you have other suggestions I would love to hear them! I will mainly just be using my bike for commuting around to the gym, groceries, home, etc.

This is just my opinion, but Lectric in my view is an entry level bike brand. They make good bikes, but I don’t view them in the same way as other brands. Aventon would be the next level up from that. There are things like a coil fork, the shimano ascera, and others where they used those specs to keep the price down. I think Velotric offers more value for money and would be a step up from Aventon.

I’d only get the discover m if you are really attune to proper shifting. The discover 3’s only difference is that it’s a hub drive over a mid drive.

I’d definitely go with the Aventon between these 2, but like everyone else mentioned, check out Velotric Discover.

Other bikes worth considering: Velotric Discover 3/M, Ride1up Prodigy V2, Ride1up Vorsa, Velotric Summit 2, Specialized Turbo Como 4 IGH, Priority Current Plus.
If you have a budget of up to $3k, I would skip Lectric. Would also skip anything that folds or has 20" wheels.

Pick the one with the best and closest dealer. Order through the dealer shop. They’ll assemble it and have your back for warranty and maintenance service for the same price as buying online.
