Blitz week will be officially over soon!
How did it go for everybody. Did you notice more DOT presence?
Hope everybody survived.
Tell us your experiences below.
chillary_shank@reddit
Got me 20 mins after switching out my baaaaaaalllld assssss trailer tires š„°š„°
PlastomaGaming@reddit
Itās already over? I didnāt see any DOT actually although I donāt think they like being out at 3am.
Gearjammr@reddit
What blitz?
happyh0gan@reddit
i got pulled into a weigh station 4 times in one night
TouchMyBoomstick@reddit
Ran nights. Couldnāt get around one when deadheading home, just had to roll down the windows and act extra American, no issues.
KingofthePi11@reddit
Same. Shooting a .50 Desert Eagle out of the window in one hand while clutching a triple whopper burger in the other usually sells it for me when running through weigh stations.
Revival-Waters@reddit (OP)
Your a clever boy arent you
KingofthePi11@reddit
So clever, in fact, HP commends it by forming a parade behind me and flashing their emergency lights as soon as I exit!
*You're
skeletons_asshole@reddit
Well I was planning to work this week, but ended up in a Jetta driving to a funeral instead. Felt pretty weird blasting past every weigh station.
kali4niakid@reddit
The ones that didnāt pass canāt comment because they went straight to jail
muck2profit@reddit
Drove nights all week. Well planned
bruhmoment67823@reddit
got pulled in for lvl 2 in new mexico somewhere maybe right outside albakirky 𤪠and then got pulled over in arkansas for my paperwork.
Revival-Waters@reddit (OP)
At a weight station near Albuquerque? Or by a trooper?
indytrucks@reddit
Business as usual. Truck stops seemed unusually busy at around 4-5pm. Maybe more people were trying to run at night to avoid things. Idk. š¤·āāļø
Revival-Waters@reddit (OP)
Thats good, where I was I've never so many weigh stations open.
edsavage404@reddit
It was Blitz week?
Exciting_Shallot_351@reddit
I thought the same thing

"Hey Sanka...ya dead?"
Exciting_Shallot_351@reddit
I love this movie!
Armchair-Attorney@reddit
32% vehicle out of service rate for motor vehicles is wild so far.
TruckerBiscuit@reddit
Smooth sailing. Barely even saw a weigh station open and the one that called me in bypassed me immediately.
Hope DOT snagged their share of white Volvo types though.
zero-pup@reddit
All the weigh stations in Washington seemed to be open..got pulled into all of them. Lots of DOT doing inspections They kept me rolling so no inspections were done on me. I did get a pre blitz level 3 in Ohio on Sunday.
TruckerBiscuit@reddit
Yeah...WA has a serious hard-on for truckers. Glad you made it through unscathed!
zero-pup@reddit
Iām surprisedā¦Iām O/O with Landstar and our safety score is 98! We are pretty much 100% pull in rate
TruckerBiscuit@reddit
In WA or everywhere? Yeah, that's nuts. I haul for Prime (also O/O) and get bypassed probably 80% of the time.
zero-pup@reddit
Yeah everywhere. I get a green light every once in awhile.
TruckerBiscuit@reddit
So bizarre; counterintuitive.
tvieno@reddit
I crossed a scale, I was empty. They pulled the truck in front of me to the side and waved me on. That's it.
Dreamz1943@reddit
I did notice more DOT inspectors in the backroads used to bypass the weight stations. Luckily I found another backroad that I used to bypass said road and avoided inspections.
Revival-Waters@reddit (OP)
Thats how you do it
NoRelation1491@reddit
I haul fuel on nights....what is blitz week?! LOL.
Revival-Waters@reddit (OP)
If you were in Texas hell yes it was
BooDBangz@reddit
I donāt think we got pulled into a single weigh stationā¦
Revival-Waters@reddit (OP)
Good to hear
PaulHOGG@reddit
My truck broke down on Tuesday and its been in the shop since so yeah no inspections, but now I gotta pay a 9k shop bill. I think id rather have been inspected.
Revival-Waters@reddit (OP)
Thats hurts
Feisty-Tomato8812@reddit
It was blitz week?
Unfair-Variety-995@reddit
Itās been odd this week. I run southern Michigan and northern Indiana. I usually see troopers all day and pass by several DOT specialists each day. The only state police cars Iāve seen this week have been parked at their stations. No stops. No inspections. I will agree with other comments about there seeming to have been less traffic on the road this week.
Snappypants9@reddit
I run this area too and had the same experience - I was all geared up and then they left me hanging š
Auquaholic@reddit
It was almost hilarious. I had an OD load and so I have to roll any open scale even if I get a bypass signal. Usually, at the very minimum, they come out and check my permit while I'm on the scale. Often, I have to park and go inside. Every one of them let me roll on without any of it. It was.... shocking.
Psychological_Ad_963@reddit
That's sheer luck with those 3
clindh@reddit
Grossed $9000 on 1800 easy miles out west. Phoenix - sparks - Denver. Intentionally booked those lanes to minimize weigh station exposure
Psychological_Ad_963@reddit
That's the way to do it.
EnolaNek@reddit
Some scales along my route that are usually closed opened up and pulled in as many people as they could fit, but that was about it. I wasnāt inspected (not that I had any reason to worry about getting inspected, trust).
Square-Lion4581@reddit
Drove through California and Nevada mostly this week, definitely saw more DOT at the weigh stations than usual. Got pulled for random inspection in Barstow but everything checked out fine - just took extra 30 minutes I didn't really have
Hope everyone else made it through without major headaches
Psychological_Ad_963@reddit
O my Bar Stool... they stuckĀ”!
Revival-Waters@reddit (OP)
Of all places to get pulled over it had to be Barstow...
At least you made it through without any citations. I've only trucked through California twice, and one of the times my passenger window got shot out.
MajorHymen@reddit
Drove nights, no scales open
Emergency-Bus-998@reddit
I'm in Canada. I missed the huge blitz coming on to one of most major highways in BC. Only to be pulled in at a smaller scale for a broken windshield. But he only did a walk around to find a broken windshield and an onpperative left turn signal. And that is effed up. My turn signal was working this morning when I did my pretrip. I get back to the yard, lift my hood, turn on my four ways, and lookie lookie, the damn thing is working. So a short that decided to cut out just for a short inspection. Fucker
Psychological_Ad_963@reddit
They got me a few years back for an invisible air leak in SC.
Tiburon712@reddit
3 level 1 inspections on Wednesday. All clear on all 3.
Pm_Me_Mtn_Bikes@reddit
So you got 3 new stickers?
Tiburon712@reddit
No, I was only given one on my 3rd at the Worthington MN scale on 90. The first inspection was at the scale on Highway 71 in Early Iowa, and the second was at one of the South Dakota pullouts on I29.
Pm_Me_Mtn_Bikes@reddit
Las Vegas point of entry was busy all day 6am - 7pm chilled at the truck stop before it with some other sketchy truckers and waited for them to close
xdjfrick@reddit
Looked like even the DOT was burnt out, tired, underpaid and short handed.
Willigsire@reddit
I'm a local propane guy, delivering cylinders (the kind you grill with) to stores here in DFW. 32 ft box truck with roll up doors on the side, paid hourly. Saw they were doing inspections at the Texas Motor Speedway and knew I had a short route yesterday, and wouldn't get my normal 8 hour shift, so I pulled in and got a level 1 inspection to help pad my time. Passed without any issue and continued on my way.
ThaQuig@reddit
It was blitz week?
warwgn@reddit
Got inspected in Oakville ON. Truck/Trailer only. Didnāt ask for my logs, and didnāt ask to see my load. Clean bill.
DoctorZebra@reddit
I saw a larger than usual number of trucks pulled over by the DOT, but they were mostly dump trucks and hot shots.
Itās hard to tell a difference based on the westbound scale on I70 in Dumont, Colorado because it always looks like a DOT party when itās open.
Odd-Fuel-9002@reddit
All scales closed except for one on i70 in Ohio where I got the bypass
_877-CASH-NOW_@reddit
Not driving rn but the weigh station on 94 going into Wisconsin from Illinois had been open 24/7. They are an active station and almost always open during the day but theyāve been open at night this whole week
Temporary_Big8747@reddit
I couldn't help but notice there's been a lot fewer trucks on the roads this week.. traffic has been a breeze! š š
Fox_Tango_@reddit
Got pulled into only one weigh station in North Carolina. Rolled across the scale and kept moving. Every other weigh station I passed was either closed or gave me the green light.
DOT presence was minimal for the most part. Except in South Carolina. They had trucks pulled over left and right on I-85 near the Greenville-Spartanburg area.
TaperingRanger9@reddit
I didn't get pulled in once but I mostly run late in the day/nights.
BrussKnackles@reddit
Most scale houses were closed like usual and the ones that were open rolled me through no problem.
robexib@reddit
Got pulled into a singular scale a couple times, got rushed through both times.
Man, for a blitz, it sure was largely uneventful.
Heep_4x4@reddit
Canadian trucker here, Atlantic Canada: Pretty decent, ended up helping out my home terminal with local P&D work all week. Tuesday I had to go down to the city (about an hour away) and got scaled on the way down. Green light rolling across so itās been smooth sailing since.
IzgoyAgain@reddit
none of the officers I passed in 5 states wanted a word, feeling kinda left out
jaylew1981@reddit
I definitely noticed quite a few O/O's pulling Super Ego trailers in the inspection bays at DOT stations in Oregon. š¤£
Sempfs@reddit
All the scales have been open and Iāve been green lighted on every one.
timbocf@reddit
Didn't see one open scalehouse
Jaycool10@reddit
No inspections; No problems
Revival-Waters@reddit (OP)
Good to hear you made it through and didnt get any citations.
