I had so many of these!
kushielsdisciple@reddit
These were a core memory from camping as a kid. The only time I remembered seeing them as a kid was at the commissary at the campground that I went to as a kid every summer. I would get one of these when it was raining and we were bored, my mom would give us a couple bucks to waste at the commissary or the arcade.
I-aim2misbehave@reddit
I absolutely lived for these.
lunapearl83@reddit
I miss these where can I find them
CocoXolo@reddit
They still make bunches of them. I got some on Amazon. They make them both for children and adults.
Equivalent-Grade-142@reddit
Theyāre still really popular. Theyāre everywhere, Target, Dollar tree, Michaelās etc
baconbag@reddit
I found them at dollar tree recently!
lunapearl83@reddit
I would LOVE to
HangryHangryHedgie@reddit
These and the magic marker books! One marker that filled in all the colors on the page. We would get these for road trips.

VeganMinx@reddit
Xennials my ass. I'm firmly GenX and still have my Sesame Street "At the Seashore" book. That was some kinda fun back then. Granted I was in college and stoned off my ass, but wholesome happy memories were found!

NotYourGa1Friday@reddit

Hello_Hangnail@reddit
I discovered you could "repaint" them with markers that bled so I got a cool gradient thing going
canadasecond@reddit
Oh my yes! Also reminds me of those invisible ink books. It was always such a treat to get a new one of those right before a road trip,.

reallyneedausername2@reddit
The height of entertainment⦠and my artistic talents.
I_Can_Barely_Move@reddit
I loved these books. I have no artistic sense. No fucking clue what color looks fine with another color. These books made me feel like I could do something most the other class could do.
MetallurgyClergy@reddit
The way Iād hoard the cheap brushes, just in case I became a real painter one day, and I needed cheap brushes.
Diva_Bot@reddit (OP)
I love how all of my 80ās girls are in here collecting those memories!! š¤
sed2017@reddit
Youāre bringing me back!
screamingcatfish@reddit
These were fun!!!
amindfulloffire@reddit
Those were fun! I got a couple for a Secret Santa thing we did in school and the girl I got them for said she couldn't have them because her mom didn't allow them. I remember getting upset about it.
Moonbellhawk@reddit
I would looove to have some of these OG ones. I found a book at the dollar store with generic, simple images of objects (cat, truck, cow, etc) last year. The "technology" is still super fun to play around with, but would kill for one with 80s imagery.
BichezNCake@reddit
Core fucking memory unlocked. Thank you š
JumboThornton@reddit
Off-topic but have you seen the previews for the Masters of the Universe movie? I feel torn⦠and not very hopeful.
greatlakesavenger77@reddit

rainbowspiralhawk@reddit
My mom kept some of mine and my kids paint in them now!
acn09@reddit
These were the best! I love finding them at the Dollar Tree - my son enjoys them and I get to play, too.
famousanonamos@reddit
My grandma used to get these for my sister and me. This and the onea with the little water color dots on the page like a pallet instead of embedded in the picture.Ā
CheekyLass99@reddit
I had the first 4 of these!
Sk8rToon@reddit
āIām all out of water!!!ā
āJust use your spit!ā
suddenlyakinkajou@reddit

Pretend-Menu-8660@reddit
Sooo many! This was hours of entertainmentā¦. Getting lost in the one of whatever I was painting- I mean putting water on lol
Traditional_Isopod80@reddit
I had se of these.
MysticKei@reddit
I looked all over for these so the youngest could "paint" with her older cousins. The only thing I could find was $Crayola$ magic something with $pecial paper š
1_art_please@reddit
I love that in some of these books, because they are drawn likely by different people, that some of the characters look off brand (ie different from how they 'should' look). I am betting only Disney would have been consistent that way because they would've been very serious about their characters all looking exact over all media. Like Jem there is looking a bit off model! I find it charming.
I used to work in animation so I think of this stuff especially in the age of AI.
thunderlips36@reddit
The pages got all wilty and messed up as I went full sloppy wet brush and everything bled together. Still had a blast
xenniac@reddit
These were my favorite!! Used with the red Crayola watercolors paintbrush ofc
xxfireangel13xx@reddit
Oh.my.god I forgot about those?!? š
Radiant-Avocado-3158@reddit
