Greenland to Iceland

Seattle to North Carolina and back a couple times in a light sport, via pretty varied and wander-y routes. We flew out to the Bahamas on one of those trips. Be flexible and respect the weather.

I did a few 1200 nm VFR trips before getting an IFR rating became obvious. It's really really hard to do a long VFR trip on a schedule (outside of maybe the southwest) because it requires too many stars to align in terms of weather. You may have to wait a few days to do the trip and that adds more pressure. You start sacrificing good weather with some clouds for bad weather and clear visibility, and then you get yourself into trouble.

I flew about 7500 miles across the us and back last summer. I plane to do it again this summer, although I have my IR bow. There were days I really needed it on that trip… trapped below a layer in the bumpy southern heat when it was clear skies above.

My bladder doesn't last longer than about 300 NM. Less if it's a stiff headwind.

Building time before my instrument I flew from Gainesville,FL to San Antonio, then San Marcos, then Artesia NM(where US customs held me at gun point) then to the south rim of the grand Canyon, then Las Vegas and back.

KTOA-F45. 2 long days in a PA-28 dodging thunderstorms and mountains without an autopilot. Flew with a multi-typed guy who rarely flies pistons. I don’t think I ever. Red to do that again.

Chicago to Key west.

In one leg, or one "trip"? If one "trip", Portland to Albuquerque. If one leg, Burley, ID to Price, UT the long way around the SLC mode C veil.

Friend of mine (on this subreddit) has flown his VFR-only airplane across the country multiple times using only paper charts.
Canadian47@reddit
I did it once and only once. After that experience I decided to get my instrument rating.

i have done the same!
But my country is like 800x200km. so not that impressive.

A friend of mine did that in her 140 several times as well. She has some cool stories

Depending on how you define a "trip", Georgia to California or Georgia to Arizona.
I was flying from Georgia to California during the pandemic, but my plane overheated in Arizona, because of the pandemic, it took 6 months to get parts before I could finish the trip.

CNO to PNC via FRH

Phoenix to Tampa is my furthest multi day trip.
Phoenix to Little Rock is my one day record in a 172 that was a long day.
