Throttle not working :(

Hello all, I have a question that needs an answer! I am working on my girlfriend's MacFox M20X. I am trying to upgrade her throttle from the stock quarter twist to a full twist. Now here's the issue at hand: the plug and connector are the right ones, but there is no response from the full-twist throttle. I tried adding pedal assist and still nothing. I am not sure how to fix it, as I'd rather not just leave her with the quarter twist. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

You're going to need a multimeter if you want to do this sort of thing. The wires are red (5v positive) black (gnd). There is a signal wire, white, sometimes green, that will vary up and down as you engage the throttle. Check the colors on the original throttle and verify with the multimeter. Check the colors on the new throttle. Solder as required.

It's a good skill to have. It's worth your time and worth your money.

Im sure it is, and I have been wanting to learn, I just don't have the funds to buy the necessary stuff.

You need to test the new throttle with a multimeter. You can find plenty of videos on how to do so.

I do not have a multimeter. I did test the throttle on my bike, and it works just fine 0 delay or lag.

I would guess the supply voltage is low on gf's bike. You can get a multimeter for maybe 10 bucks.

It's also possible same connection, different wiring pattern, I suppose.
